Yea! Another time when we 'celebrate' any diagnosis as long as it's not the 'C'!

Very happy to hear that Grady is on the mend and back to his old self!

Let's see that kitten playing with the drain!

I tried to get a picture of the kitten enjoying her "toy", but she, thankfully, decided it wasn't interesting anymore and went for the tail instead ;) So, I'll give you a picture of this lump. Be warned...not for the squeamish ;) I took this about an hour ago, so he's had the drain in for 3 days now, and it's significantly smaller than it was (which is impressive!)

It hasn't drained as much as I would have thought, and he's supposed to have it removed on Tuesday. I'm wondering it they'll have to open it back up, and manually drain more? Or maybe the antibiotics are supposed to do their job...I'm kinda happy that I have no experience with this, but it makes it hard!

Ouuuuuch!

I'm hoping it will drain more on it's own. Try not to panic, I know Tuesday seems like a very long way off!

And this is SMALLER than before? Owie! I guess Marshall was feeling a little "off".

Yeah, the antibiotics need time to work. This ride we're all on gives new meaning to "crazy" every day!!

Hopeng tjey don't jave to re-open...it could simply be that the drain is so ehow clogged or moved out of position. Kitty! You leave that tube alone! It's not catnip!

Hang in there!

Hugs to all!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Hi there

Tuck had drains after his lipoma surgery last year at this time.  The drainage from them was not infection but rather to prevent a seroma .  Does Grady leave the site alone or is he wearing the "cone of shame "?

I would imagine that the combination of the drain and the antibiotic will reduce the "lump" right down by next Tuesday (or do you mean tomorrow).  Either way....I'm not a vet but that would be my guesstimation.

Hugs to all of you

Linda and Tucker

I actually spaced, and meant Wednesday...as in, tomorrow. Stitches come out Friday. It all may be subject to change, though, since we're in for some weather. I'm in the south, and everything shuts down if it smells like snow. To be fair, we're actually anticipating 6-10 inches, so I can't even complain this time. Growing up in NY, that doesn't seem like an issue, but I've learned that they really don't have the ability to clear the roads out here, and most roads are long, winding backroads. I will call the vet this morning to see if he wants to remove a day early, or leave it in till the roads are clear :)

No cone...he prefers to pretend like it never happened, and doesn't even look it, let alone mess with it ;)

And apparently my husband and Sally are on the same wavelength as far as "therapy":12447145404_f36cd063a7_n.jpg

Pretty glad the old G-dawg will have a decent snow to hop through this year!

That's amazing!  That's SMALLER than before?  Holy moly!

Enjoy that snow, G-Dawg!  Love that nickname.  Very cute.  Speedy recovery!

~ Katy & Jackson

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12.  Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ!  No side effects.  We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments.  He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors!  Our love. Our funny little guy!

Oh OK well at least you have the chocolate to wait out the snowpocalypse!

No cone and he doesn't mess with it? WOW, that is one awesome pup.
