When I lost my beloved German Shepherd tripawd, "Luna" to hemangiosarcoma, I was greatly comforted by the book, "For Every Dog an Angel".  I highly recommend it to anyone who has lost a dog, or anyone who is facing such a loss at some time in the future.  It is beautifully illustrated and sensitively written.  It is appropriate for children and adults alike.

When I learned that Jerry had gone to the Rainbow Bridge, I sent a copy to his pawrents, along with a Rainbow Bridge wristband (I'm wearing one now as I write this), which is also offered by the author of the book, Christine Davis.   I asked Jerry's pawrents if I could tell everyone on the forum about this book and they said yes, so I am including the contact information as well as the web site address for anyone wishing to order a book and/or wristband.

I hope you will visit Christine's web site and learn more about her books (she also has a book entitled, "For Every Cat an Angel").  I know that this little book brought me great comfort and I tell everyone I know about it.

(Available on Amazon)

Sincerely,

Sandra Thomas and "Angel" Luna

Take it from my Mom and Dad everyone, this book is a truly beautiful keepsake. It brought smiles to my pawrent's faces even when they were feeling the saddest.

Thanks for mentioning it, Sandra. We love you!

I am repeating what I wrote on the other thread regarding http://www.ligh.....dpress.com and the book "For Every Dog an Angel":

How ironic!  I just received my copy of this book about 5 days ago and have put it with all my belated pets’ cremains, collars toys, etc.  It is a wonderful book and Christine Davis will sign any book you buy.  I, also, got my Rainbow Bridge wristband from them.  I kept thinking of my visit with Rene & Jim on October 30th and I wanted a Rainbow Bridge wristband just like Rene was wearing, so I finally looked and decided to buy one along with "For Every Dog an Angel".  I will be buying all of the books they have to offer.  They’re just so beautiful.

On an interesting note:  we have been having some of the worst weather I have ever seen in my 19 years in Portland, OR.  For the last week we have had ice and snow and today we are being hammered with snow which will later turn to freezing rain.  On Christine’s blog she stated how she was so worried about shipping her packages to people for Christmas that she had several neighbors who offered to help her get to the post office and buy groceries.  She’s an extremely warm-hearted person and it makes me feel so good to support what she is doing.

Thanks Sandra & "Angel" Luna,

Love, Blazer & Mom (Vicki)

Christine Davis wrote to me and said she is having a 15% discount to all tripawd members on all of her books through the end of the year.  All you have to do is enter the code: HOLIDAY when you are checking out.  I thought that was very generous of her to offer this to everyone.

Vicki, this is so great to know, thank you.

We also wanted to point out that Christine has an incredible resource of Pet Loss Comfort Articles on her website. Anyone going through the agonizing process of saying goodbye will find comfort in these pages.  What a gift she has for helping humans and their fur kids.

Hey, it my pleasure to let everyone know about the discount.  I thought that was really generous of her, plus, you are right, she does have some extremely comforting articles.  She is a wonderful person and I feel lucky that I am getting to know her better.
