TATE ~ Forever in our hearts.
You'll be amazed what front leg tripawds can do! But hey, what's a few lost veggies when you've got a hoppy doggie running amok?
Go Kayla!!!!

Way to go Kayla! I was amazed the first time Abby started digging! I figure it's a great core workout, so I let her have at it. (but then, we don't have a veggie garden) 🙂

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Tha's wonderful news about Kayla!
We need pictures!! (at least an avatar!)
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Thanks everyone - I never knew digging a hole could be so exciting before the amp. Kayla is still making huge progress, back to meeting my son off the school bus yesterday and doesn't seem to mind missing a leg at all. If only us mear humans could be so accepting and get on with life.
Is there any suppliments I should be giving Kayla that will help with strenghtening the remaining front leg or will she get everything she need from her food, The vet has advise us to use a expensive large breed puppy food.

Depends on the food! A high protein, grain-free diet is highly recommended. You will find lots of information about food and supplements in the Tripawds Nutrition blog. For building muscle strength, exercise and conditioning is best once Kayla has fully recovered from the amputation. For building muscle strength you might consider K9 Super Fuel.
