I know I'm the only one who could watch her all day....11 mos ago, Isabelle's arthritis was so painful it was difficult for her to walk on 4 legs. 7 long mos of rehab later, when she was just back to her old self, she was diagnosed & had her amputation. It's so good to see her so happy!

That is beautiful.  I can see why you would want to watch it over and over.  She's really doing well.

Wow Isabelle you move so well! Chloe too is a left rear amp and watching Isabelle run reminds me so much of her!! Keep it up and don't let that stinky arthritis get you down!

Chloe became a rear amp tripawd on 7-29-10. Another tumor was removed on front leg 2-20-14. Found 3rd tumor on neck 2-2015, but she's still kicking cancer's butt at age 14. Chloe's blog

Pawsome!  Isabelle looks great!  You'd never know she ever suffered from arthritis when you watch that video.  Keep running, beautiful Isabelle!

She looks FANTASTIC!!!  I am betting you could watch her all day!  Kudo's to you and doing the rehab with her...not only before but after her amputation.  I'm curious, is she on any regular nsaid's for her arthritis or is so OK with just doing rehab?

Isabelle is on metacam & has been for almost a year. I've cut the dose by about 20%. Her spinal arthritis is pretty severe . I also give her arnica or Traumeel sometimes, if she's been very active. She has 23 curvy stairs to navigate multiple times/day & going up aggravated her back long before her amputation. Down is no problem. She now has to be on a leash because she runs so fast, I'm worried she'll fall. I usually carry her up (my choice, she can manage, but I don't want to put that strain on her spine). In the house, I only have 4 stairs which she has been up & down constantly since the day after surgery.

Her arthritis is managed by a successful combination of medication, supplements, underwater treadmill (3x/week & invaluable for building & maintaining her muscle mass), acupuncture (1-2x/wk), massage (1-2x/week, very beneficial for Isabelle), chiropractic adjustments, & constant supervision of her activities. We are fortunate to have local access to these resources. She was in the best possible shape prior to her amputation & resumed her therapy schedule almost immediately.

I appreciate everyone taking the time to watch her video & leaving such kind comments.

You are very fortunate indeed Cynthia to have easy access to all of that for Isabelle!  I'm soooo jealous.  My chiro/acupuncturist/vet is 4 hrs south of me 🙁  And I have no access to an underwater treadmill...gawd, I love to purchase one of those but I can only imagine the cost - probably as much as my car! LOL.

Isabelle looks so happy. When watching the video It's hard to believe all that she has been through. It's wonderful that all of the hard work Isabelle and her family have put in has obviously paid off and big time...............I mean look at her go. Beautiful! smiley

Well Tracy, I'm pretty sure I've paid for the treadmill she walks in at least twice!ugh

Seriously, though, I used to think we were fortunate to live just a few minutes from the holistic vet/rehab center of my choice, instead of many others in the area. It wasn't until a friend moved to Seattle & had difficulties finding the resources we have, that I began to realize how truly blessed we are. I admire everyone who makes such an effort to provide the best care for their animals, even if it means driving 4 hours!
