Zeus still goes to work with me every day.  He thinks we need to retire from the rat race....

He's also not real happy about a bath tomorrow....

I know I'm a bit biased, but he is just the cutest thing ever when he is wet and PO'ed at us, so I will try to get a pic tomorrow! laugh

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11.  A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

HAHAHAHA Adorable! He looks like he is an expressive dog.

That second picture looks like the look that Cadence gives me when she is naughty and I ask her "What did you do?" in a stern voice. 🙂

I know what you mean about work. It is so hard to go to work everyday with these guys at home waiting. But at least you get to take yours with you.

OK- your going to need rotating avatars!!  I love his face.  Can't wait to see the bath pictures.

I think I get that look in the second pic when my boss says "I just need you to do this one extra little job".

Awww is right!!  What a cutie!

Mary, Lucy's mom

Lucy's front right leg was amputated 12/19/11. Thankfully there was no tumor, but her nerves were found to be degenerative.  Life as a tripawd is Lucy's new adventure!!

I know Zeus is "mature" but I'm thinking maybe he's really a teen-ager. He's got that "oh mom!" eye roll down pat!

Such a cutie. Looking forward to bath day pics!
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

What lucky job do you have that allows you to take your buddy to work? I'm jealous! Linda would probably dislike going to work with me because she's ambivalent about boats at best, and really doesn't like our noisy ones. Bernie bin Laden would love it, but the local wildlife wouldn't be as enthusiastic about having him around. So my mutts have to settle for the occasional visit. Does Zeus get to hang in the office with you or is he more of a co-pilot in the vehicle?

He is sooooooo cute and his sweet personality shines through his photos. Although I love his other pictures, I also vote for his current avatar. I was very worried and sad about Sammy when I first saw his picture — but that little grin made me smile. Noting that he had osteosarcoma and lost his right front leg, just like Sammy, made me love him immediately.

Zeus, keep on kickin' cancer's butt!

Beth and Spirit Smilin' Sammy

Smilin' Sammy, March 16, 2004 – Dec. 5, 2011
Golden retriever, diagnosed with osteosarcoma in September 2010 — right front leg amputated November 2010. He fought valiantly to stay with us; but a second diagnosis of osteosarcoma, this time in his left front leg, was more than our golden warrior could overcome. He loved his pack — and everyone else he met.

We loved him even more.
Thanks for the pennies, Sammy. They helped.

Maxidad, I work in a small law firm (two attorneys and me) and they both love dogs, thank goodness.  I have a HUGE crate - probably the largest you can buy that he stays in and takes medicinal naps right beside my desk.  I take him out at lunch and usually once later in the afternoon to potty and stretch his legs a bit, and of course we converse quite a bit  smiley.  Greg and I have moved around a bit over the years due to his job.  My last firm had 21 attorneys and around 30 support staff so it was very "professional" and I can't imagine them allowing something like this.  This is a smaller college town and most of the firms here are small and a little more relaxed than the bigger cities.  I am so thankful for such good-hearted bosses!

And, thank you everyone for the compliments.  He really is like our kid and we are very much the "proud parents."
