Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Thanks Erica!! Just hopped over and read it! Really interesting and, in a bizarre way, comforting! We all think what did "we do"...or "not do"...to cauze this dreaded crap.
You are so fortunate to have her as your Jill's doctor.
love!

Thank you for sharing. I always like reading (well because they are informative) not because of the subject her articles. As everyone knows I hate cancer. LOL

We all hate cancer - human and canine. It is nice to be reminded we aren't the 'cause'.

Hmmm, I'm not sure how I feel about this article. I guess I'm EXTREMELY unlucky. I've had four cats - one died from malignant melanoma (he was black, not light coloured) and Mona got cancer from a vaccine. Do I feel guilty? Absolutely. I did not research the potential side-effects of feline vaccines.
Kerren and Trikitty Mona
Ohh Kerren...try and remember, Mona..and all your kitties,do NOT want you feeling guilty about this stupid piece of crap disease! It makes up it's own rules and none of us really have very few clues what and how it will strike next.. We've ALL gone the vaccine route because that's what the "lrofessionals" tell us we much do and the "law" Every single ine of your kitties has been loved and cared for their whole loves and no one could give them a better life of spoiling and loving than you!

Thanks for sharing ... it does ease some guilt... I did ask "why" a lot w/Shelby and then with Jasper, I am like, what can I do to prevent it ... short of keeping her in a bubble, the answer is - nothing.
Why did my dad get sick when I was 15?
Why didn't Shelby live longer when I did everything medically possible for her? Did I wait too long to check out her lumps, bumps, slow gait?
I need to forgive myself and remember - cancer is one cruel mother f'er (pardon my french but I know Jilly swears too).
Hugs and love!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
