Holly, thank you so much for taking the time to share this vitally important information. It really is infuriating to know how they covered all their bases. Heartbreaking people to have to deal with the finances involved, much less the heartache of having their cats become sick as a result of this vaccine.

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Updated links On FISS and where to report.

Manufacturers are listed below in the post- –

I believe this will answer anyone’s questions in the future.

Thank you so much Holly, this is super helpful. Since our How to Help Your Three Legged Cat book has direct links to this post, anyone who needs this information will get the most current info because of you.

The range of reimbursement is so wide. I also wonder what 'reasonable' means according to each company. Yes, anyone who has to go through this process (hope nopawdy ever needs to!), please let us know about your experience with the manufacturer.

The range of reimbursement is so wide.

It does not go wide enough imo. I know any amount will help in the cost but yea it is not enough.

Happy to get this updated & hope less need for this info.

This thread is SOOOO helpful!! I'm currently in a battle between my vet and the pharmaceutical company for them to reimburse my sweet babies hemipelvectomy and amputation due to a rabies vaccine. It does sounds like I won't get my $15K back, but I guess something is better than nothing, right? Appreciate this forum and all the information you guys have provided.

In addition, does anyone have any experience with veterinarian malpractice? I know I can report them to the state board but they messed up multiple times before sending me to an Oncologist and just curious what ya'll think.

XOXO,

Sugar & Me

Your post has been proved and, although I dont have any insight regarding malpractice, perhaps others can offer guidance.

Overall, how is Sugar doing?  Sounds like she has had a pretty extensive amputation and hopefully she is past the hardest part of recovery.

Hugs

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!

Yes! Just Merck just emailed to say that our check is on the way to cover $5000 of the costs of our Nyah's recent treatment and amputation!

Many thanks to our local vet clinic for being aware of this compensation and initiating and filing our claim.
