I'm having a tech issue so please refer me elsewhere but I thought I'd ask here. I was trying to work on my blog and when I go to the page for the tutorial videos, they show up for a second and then they disappear and I can't click on them. I've added the site to my accepted pop-ups list in case that might help but it didn't. Thanks!
Hi, Caryn - Β you will have to post in technical support at https://tripawd.....l-support/ Β & ask the Admin. You got farther than I did. Mine do not show up at all.
We will be thinking of you and Luna tomorrow. Please let us know when surgery is over and Luna is in recovery.
Give her a chin scratch and smooch from us, please.
Hugs
Hello,
Feeling super anxious tonight about Luna's surgery tomorrow. I know all the logical things of it being the best thing for her and we are going to a good vet and she'll be better off. It's just hard to think about it and know such a major change is coming. Fear of the unknown. I knew everyone here would understand so I thought I'd mention it here. Any words of wisdom and encouragement would be appreciated.
Thank you.
Caryn
Oh we understand the "fear of the unknown ", the uncertainty,Β the gut churning sounds in your tummy,Β all to well.Β We've all been where you are so we nget it like no others can
Just continueΒ to focus on a pawsitive outcome and a knowing that thisΒ is the best decisionΒ you can make for Luna and her qualityΒ of life.
The other thing that helps...eat chocolate,Β lots and lots of chocolate!Β Eat anyΒ kind of junk food you can find..Β Junk food, chocolate......best comfort food evvvver!!

Being super anxious is normal, and yes, fear of the unknowns; we have to plow through one way or another; you will be like this until you hear Luna is in recovery and surgery went well. Then, the nerves set in for the homecoming. No one can prepare us fully for all of this. Plus, recoveries vary, and all our animals are unique. With great pain meds, it will be easier.
The best advice I can give you now is to stay as busy as you can and start preparing for Luna's homecoming. Know you are doing this for Luna, not for her. That is your new mantra !!! We are doing this for Luna, not to Luna repeat.
Remember your choices: leave Luna in pain and suffering & cancer spreading, or take the C off and let Luna thrive on 3. We all know it is tragic to lose a limb. We are all on the other side and can tell you it was worth all of it!!! We have never looked back and questioned our decision in almost eight years, I hope that helps you. Β Luna will have a great qol once the c is gone and you continue to get the weight off. You will be amazed at what she can do, NOT what she cannot do!
You will have to do your best to breathe through all this, hold our hands, have belief, and if chocolate helps, EAT IT;)
Recovery will last a few weeks. Then, you start a new normal. You got this.
Please Keep us posted.

Luna is on some great pain meds and probably seeing a bunch of pink elephants right about now. So use this time to get some rest yourself, okay?

Hi Everyone!
Miss Luna is home! She is doing well so far. We have a little playpen/tent space for her and she seems to like her new spot. She talked to us all the way home letting us know about her adventures in the hospital. She has not done any licking or scratching of her incision. Does that usually start a few days after surgery, where the healing process starts and it might become more irritating?Β
Thanks for sharing in our journey.
Caryn and Luna
WELCOME HOME, MISS LUNA!!!
So happy to hear she is doing well and likes her recovery suite.π»
Most cats will want to clean and bother the incision unless Luna is a unicorn. Did the surgeon give his preference? A onesie, surgical suit, or cone to put on? They can make short work and destroy an incision in the blink of an eye, so it is best not to take the chance. We used baby onesies and swapped them once or twice a day. I sewed the amputated side shut. Purrkins did not mind his. As the incision heals, it will become itchy and more bothersome.Β
Heal well, Miss Luna. Eat, drink, sleep, and potty repeat.
Give her a chin scratch from us, please.
Hugs
