Have a vet appt scheduled for 12:30pm since no 💩 . She also hasn’t peed since yesterday morning. But hopefully she does both before the appt!

Alrighty, hoping everything “comes out” okay 👍

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

It is safe to give and safe to continue to give, or I would never suggest it. Petunia is not making unproductive trips to the litter box and is not throwing up in the litter box, right?

I hope you being on here now means she has pooped and peed. Im sorry if you both have to head to the vet again!!!

So I brought her in at 12:30pm. She felt around and said nothing has hardened in her colon, so we should wait a few more days cause she did not want to do another enema (I didn’t want to either). She also wants me to only give her gabapentin every 12 hrs until she poops as that might be the reason why she isn’t. I mean, the two days she did (Mon & Tues) she was given it 12 hrs apart. She truly understands the importance in pain management , but she really wants her to get this poop out. She said continue to Miralax even after she poops. She reach back out if she doesn’t poop by Tuesday (since she eats wet food, I guess there is more room), or if she starts to show symptoms, such as throwing up or her tummy pulsing. Tuesday seems soooo far away. She better poop by then!

We got to talking a lot of Petunia’s progress and I discussed some things that has been happening in the last week. We did this while sitting on the floor watching Petunia just hop ALL over the room! I was STUNNED! I asked the vet doc if I could possibly rent out a room here cause I never seen her walk so much!!! 😂 It also made me so happy cause obviously they don’t have carpet in the rooms and she was doing SO GOOD! She was also being the absolute sweetest, even to the vet doc, which she got a WHOLE different personality when they were prepping her for the surgery. I told her it was because I wasn’t in the room. But, I was really happy she saw that side of her. 🩷

And then the most cutest thing happened … Tuni was walking towards me and did the most ADORABLE jump hop into my lap (we are still on the floor) and laid down. Both doc and I were like, “awwwww that was so sweet.”

… until it wasn’t …

Moments after continuing our conversation, my jaw dropped. “OH NO!!!”

My lap must have been second best to a litterbox cause she unloaded what had to be DAYS worth of pee in my lap!!! Vet doc said this has never happened before. How embarrassing! But we laughed cause WHAT THE HELL?!?!

All-in-all, the vet was SO impressed on how well she is doing! Incision healing is looking awesome, she got to see her in action walking around the room for like 10 minutes (I think she was trying to find an escape 😂), she got to pet Petunia as she laid right up on her leg. There was even a time when she really wanted to jump on the chair! Although I wouldn’t let her try, the fact that she was even interested is a good sign!!!

It was today that I truly realized that I DID do everything right! And I believe I will continue to do so.

I trust your advice, and thank you for it! I made sure to ask the vet about having her on Miralax for a little bit won’t be bad for her just to hear her say that it isn’t. If you haven’t noticed already, I get nervous about EVERYTHING! 😂

Now give yourself a great pick pat onback while we are giving you a standing ovation👏👏👏.  I was so happy to hear how well Petinia was doing at the Vet.  Hopping around the room, being all.pacing and then..using you as a litter box had me  cracking up !,,🤪😂What a moment…..thrilled she peed….just not on your lap😭

So delighted to see Tuni doing so well. Your perseverance paid off👍

I'm thrilled Petunia did not need another enema; those are no fun!!!  Good job taking her in before the weekend to KNOW all is okay!

Scratches to the kitties, please.

Also, still no poop. 😔 I feel like she wants to. But maybe walking around will help get it going.

This morning I did get clay litter and put it in a disposable litterbox. I cut it so it’s easy to get in. Maybe that is just want she needs, even though she pooped twice in the pellet litterbox.

Is the clay litter what she used before surgery? (exact type, brand she used always used before surgery)

Also, give Petunia her before surgery litter box, have both side by side, and give her the choice.

Relax on the poop, please. It will come; she was checked yesterday, and she is not impacted. Miralax needs a few days to work!

She is doing great. Strength and balance will come. I thought you were putting rugs down this weekend?

So tomorrow I am going to get this house ready with carpets

She will do her best with traction ; this video shows Petunia went straight for the bathmat! Yes, they can hop on no carpet, but it would be best to have traction down for her safety and to gain her confidence—ie rugs and or yoga mats.

No, she was using pellet litter before surgery. I switched 3 years ago. Both my cats are so good with change, food or litter. I am just giving her the option. I know you mentioned before that it might be easier for her. If she doesn’t use it, then that’s okay, I just wanted to give her the option. I have another cat, so I’m going to keep their litterbox where it’s at. I’m actually hoping that she will go to it now that I’m letting her roam supervised. Although there is a cover on that litterbox, it’s a pretty big on and I think the walls will help hold her up if she does decide to use it.

I do have carpets down, but I cannot cover all areas of the house. And I cannot afford to buy more, I’m so strapped for cash. I get how important it is, but all I can do is put as much down in the high traffic areas. I didn’t get to it until today cause I was so tired yesterday after waking up at 1am. I am washing some mats right now and I’ll take a video of the house once everything is laid down.

i think she went to that rug to lay down. I only got this short video, but she actually walked from the back to the front of the house, so she was tired. Plus, she was exploring since it’s been 17 days since she was able to roam.

We do understand strapped for cash ( I was only going by what you said earlier) that you had some, thats all.

It took us years to get the house dialed in for Purrkins!!! You do what you can as you can! Like you, we had NO carpet significant changes for us all. It's one most of us don't like. Yep, put what you do have in the most frequent areas. I know we moved stuff around frequently.

She looks great! Moving around pretty darn well, especially on that surface and on stairs. A carpet runner in that spot will be helpful too. Yes, more activity will get her bowels moving things along.

So happy she's doing better!
