Sally, yes, my cats tummy’s are made of iron! They’ve been pretty good with change. The hardest change was going from dry food to wet food, specially with Tuni. Cause for 10 yrs at the time of the switch, I gave P&P wet food as a “treat.” Fancy Feast w/gravy that Petunia was especially obsessed with. So going to low carb wet food took some playing around with to find something that Tuni would eat cause it wasn’t her Fancy Feast w/gravy she excepted upon hearing the can being opened by the lid. But, also, because there was always dry food in their bowl, I never really knew her eating habits.
Oops....I gave a YAY prematurely thinking Tuni didn't puke.....misread it, but maybe it's a sign that she won't throw up any more....mayve!
Glad they both handle food changes well. 👍

This might help you find foods and their carb content more easily. It's worth mentioning IF you have to keep looking for Possum—a good one to bookmark, if nothing else.

Food change has been a success so far. Gave them a can of Tastefuls Monday AM, and swapped over to Fancy Feast Gourmet Naturals Monday PM. They love both beef and turkey! Actually Petunia meows like CRAZY when I’m getting their food ready. She will even “run” to her bowl. It really makes me so happy how much she’s enjoying it cause of everything she’s been through the last 3.5 months. Possum loves the food, too. I do like the 3oz cans cause I’ll serves them a can 4 times a day. I never did that for Blue Wilderness cause the food was sooooooo expensive. 24 cans of 3oz was pretty much the same price as the 5.5oz. (Edit: Just realized that FF will be more expensive that BB 😔). I don’t know if the FF has 5.5oz cans, but I might just stick with 3oz. But, what I really wanted to report is Possum hasn’t thrown up since Sunday, and Petunia hasn’t since early hrs of Monday morning!
I did reach out to Blue Buffalo and they said they haven’t changed their ingredients. They asked me more questions in which I will respond, but I think I am going to do the switch offically.
SPECTACULAR UPDATE!!
The visionn of Petunia running for her food when she hears the can opening was priceless. Just so thrilled that both of them seem to be doing well with this food. Excellent job Samantha! 👏👏👏

Update:
No puking with the exception of Possum yesterday (Thurs) morning puking the clear bile. Took her to the vet. Got Cernia. Vet wants me to check in a week to see how she does on the 4 days on it and then 3 days off of it. She thinks that maybe she has had an indigestion issue her whole life if she’s always been a puker. May eventually do an ultrasound, depending how she does after Cernia and then this food change. I mentioned to her that a month ago I saw a video of a woman learning her cat had 22 hair ties in her stomach. Even the comments of that video showed multiple people experiencing that. I was like, “WHAT?!?!?” Possum loves playing with them and she eats anything … could it be?!?! I could have never imagined cats actually eating hair ties. Vet is like, “oh yeah, they do!” It unlocked a new fear, that’s for sure! And I’ll be honest, if she did have some in her stomach, it would have made the last years make so much more sense!
The liquid liver supplement came in yesterday. I should have waited until today to give it to her cause it is said it is to be at room temp, and the bottle was cold from the weather outside. I also didn’t realize that it was oil based. I squirted the entire thing in her mouth, and she started to what seemed to be salivating. I freaked out, called the vet, and they said that can happen, especially if the cat doesn’t like the taste. I googled it after I hung up, and yup, salivating can happen. But that is when I also learned it was oil based. So today I’m just gonna squirt a little at a time. Also not sure if that was saliva or if that is the consistency of the oil based med. Also, not sure if it being cold that is created that consistency.
I also asked the vet about Solensia. She said it would not affect her liver calluses at all, that antibodies doesn’t get processed through the liver.
I wondered how you made out yesterday at the vet. I checked for an update;)
The Cerenia can make them tired fyi it did our Saxton not excessive just relaxed and little sleepy.
Definitely on the salivating on nasty taste its a very sad sight to see, crap I was so hoping the chicken flavor would be a hit. Did you shake it really well? You need to shake the poop out of it to ensure it's all mixed up. If you didnt shake it up well that could be why Petunia had the reaction. I hate hearing she had to go thru that or any cat for that matter.
Excellent on the Cerenia I always pulverized the pill and used a churu tube to syringe it. You can use your pill gun and pop it right down. I think you will see a different Possum for several days!! Don't worry on ultrasound yet, one step at a time and know you can give the Cerenia in courses I always had a box in my cupboard for as needed. You're going to kill yourself with worry Samantha on the hair ties and yes many cats eat them and ear plugs. Tons of things. I always keep mine up.
Ok on the Solensia glad you inquired.
Keep us posted on the Cerenia run glad to hear overall things are going well the food is a hit and no puking from Petunia and you wont have any with Possum.
Hugs and love to the girls

Yeah I shakes it pretty good, but I’ll even shake it more from here on out! I’m hoping it being at room temperature, it’ll go smoother. The salivating did make me nervous cause I wasn’t sure if she was choking on it. I mean, it was thick. Made me so sad for her cause she’s just been through so much, and now this. I think if the original supplement worked, we would have gotten in its month worth and she would have been retested. But here I am just starting.
No worries, I am not freaking out about the hair ties. 🙂 Possum is just looking so good, besides her throwing up. Energized, eating good, hydrated. 🙂 And then at the vet, her heart, lungs, lymph nodes checked out great! Thanks for letting me know about the side effect of Cerenia.
I know it looks scary and has a lot of froth, dripping drool nastiness. Poor Petunia was not pleased. I learned the same lesson eons ago with one of our angel kitties, and one reason, yes, I taste a pin size of anything I have to give them to avoid that at all costs.
I hope it goes smoother today, and if not tomorrow, you can add some tuna water to mask the taste and then syringe it. I'll explain further if needed.
I'm glad to hear all checked out well with Possum. The cerenia will help.
Love to the girls
P.S. did blue buffalo offer refund? If not talk to chewys it will help go towards your next purchase of the ff

So I tried to do a little at a time this time around. Just over 1/2. I have my mattress in the front room on the floor cause my bedroom has been FREEZING from these negative temps we’ve been having this week.
She was laying on the bed when I put the med in her mouth, and she immediately got up and literally ran off the mattress and to the back of the house, up the ramp and onto the couch. I didn’t know she can go that fast (and her form was perfection!). She once again, saliva. It made me so sad to see. And I did shake the bottle like crazy.
Called the vet and spoke with the vet tech there. She is going to send a message to Tuni’s vet doc who is there tonight to see if she has any suggestions. The vet tech told me that the pharmacy in our town does compounding (they do it for her cat), so I don’t know if that’s an option.
I’m just so frustrated cause this is #3 and I just want her to get in this dang supplement.
The dosage was 0.5 ml. correct? I have a solution for you. Put it in a gel capsule; I confirmed it fits nicely in your #5 capsule. It's a simple fix, and it's in once a day.
I hate to see you waste that it was expensive too. Try that please & yes, I understand your frustration 100%
This will work!!
Sorry, Tuni, you had to endure that nasty taste again - this will be much nicer. You won't even know this way.
Hugs
Wait, WHAT??? It fits? I didn’t think it would! Oh I gotta try it tomorrow. I just got off the phone with the vet and she said we pretty much ran out of options. She is researching a potential diet. But if this works, I’ll be soooo happy! She did offer to get one that is more concentrated so half the volume. But I don’t wanna spend even more $$. Maybe I will have her prescribe that if we need to continue after I finish this bottle:
Hopefully what you have is the same thickness as what I have cause it doesn’t seem like it would fit. I’ll find out tomorrow! You are amazing! Thank you!
