Absolutely thrilled to hear this wonderful update!!👏   Quite frankly, I was fully prepared to hear you say that things hadn't gone very well so far. I kind of expected that to be somewhat the normal reaction they would have to a new place, Etc. This just reinforces that all they care about is being with you and being together.. and of course food!

Looks like a change of scenery is good for everyone! Will look forward to seeing some pictures of these two cuties enjoying their new home.  ♥️♥️♥️

Hello ♡♡♡

Jolie went in for his check-up. Fortunately the number are all still good. The rbc went down from 40 last time to 35. So just as a precaution he got another rbc stimulating injection and 7 days of iron tablets. He also gained about another 200 grams so he is at 4.42 kilos now. He was off his food a little today but that happened last time after vet visit too.

The vets seems a little surprised that he is doing so well. We don't know what tomorrow may bring but today I thing we are in a good place today.

PS for some reason, post surgery, he had two bald spots on the back of his neck. The fur now has mostly grown back.

YAY JOLIE!!! That's really great news!!! smiley_clap You brought him back from the brink, and look at him now! He is such a great example of how learning to advocate for your pets really pays off. Not all animals are so lucky to have such a great dad like you! And that's keeping him healthy and beating cancer too. YEAH!

I'm sure his vet is learning so much from you two as well. This, in turn, will help them be a better vet to other pet parents in similar situations.

Sounds like the vet visits do stress him out. Bet he's so happy to have that done with. SUPER DUPER CONGRATULATIONS!!! sp_hearticon2

DITTO!!!

You are doing such an excellent  job of caring for Jolie! You really have, as Jerry said, brought him back from the brink....several times!

To have the good kind of check up that he got yesterday  makes us all so happy!

Joel's had a busy several days so not surprising  he didnt  want to eat much today.

Gaining weight.....fur growing back .....sounds like signs of healing in every aspect!!

Hello:)

This just a short update.

The boys continue to do well. There was one day when Jolie threw up  a tiny hair ball. Five minutes later wouldn't you know Mignon did the same thing followed my more puking throughout the day. I gave him a cerenia and he puked that up too. But things were ok the next day and he didn't stop eating or have any other bad days. Jolie is still eating well too and some days their poo is copious.

Hope everyone is doing well....

These two crazy cats really keep you on your toes!! Whatever one does the other one follows! I'm glad everything settled down though

Applause to you for the continued  excellent care, as well as accepting the little "tips and downs" as pretty much "normal" (all things considered).

So the adjustment to their new home has gone well, right?  Tjey have you, their beds, their treats and to them that's home....no matter the location.

I do believe we might need some pictures of these two preciois ,otties....hint...hint

Good luck with the visa process! That's quite an ordeal from what I understand. We have an American friend living in Vietnam, he has to go through that a couple times a year I believe. I didn't realize you aren't a native. How cool! What is your home country?

Hello Everyone

I'm back. I had some trouble signing on everything fixed now. After some difficulties I did get my visa renewed in korea for 2 more years. I'm from Vermont originally but I've been here in Daejeon since 2001.  Jolie and Mignon were born in Korea and I've had them since they were 3 months old.

Jolie had a check-up on June 16th. His numbers were quite the same as last time with his creatinine level 3 points higher than last time. He has been eating well and gained a little more weight putting him at 4.54 kilos.  I think he was only 3.7 after surgery last December.   It is 6 months today since his surgery on 19 Dec.

Thank you always everyone for your thoughts and prayers.

WHEEEE!!!! smiley_clapWell this is great news all round, a triple crown of good news! You get to stay in Korea, Jolie is still beating the odds, and you even got logged in. YAY!

What did Jolie's vet say about his incredible rebound? What a team effort to get him there!

That's pretty neat you've been overseas for so long. I'm envious! Sounds like fun.

And about that logging in trouble: if you try logging in too many times, you will get temporarily locked out. Security thing. I'm glad that's all that was going on.

Hello All

Yes, I still get a thrill every time I see Jolie and Mignon eat their food or wait for their snacks.  There is always a little apprehension mixed in; will they eat or won't they today.... They have been having small bouts of vomiting, just small amounts.  This morning again, this time Jolie vomited 2 small amounts then a few minutes later Mignon vomited 3 times and succeeded in bringing up a small hairball.  Fortunately, it didn't affect their eating.  Shortly after, they still ate there snacks and thier dry food.

The vet always seems surprised when I bring him in with a good report, especially when I tell her that he is still gaining weight.   She just says he is amazing.   She has mentioned doing ultra sound or other diagnostics to check on the cancer, I guess I have mentioned this before, but I don't see anything constructive about doing that since it wont change the outcome.  She has also mentioned chemotherapy and dialysis in the past, both of which I don't see the point in, especially dialysis.  I had a friend who had to go to dialysis and that seems like more torture than it's worth with a terrible quality of life.

I have a feeling that the vet didn't expect Jolie to be doing this well for this long.  I don't know what the statistics are.  I have looked on the internet and have not been able to find anything specific.

I guess if the cancer was advancing there would be signs of it in his condition.  I hope we can keep having good days for some time to come..
