Went back for updated rads for the pulmonary nodule that was discovered in left cranial lung lobe at his 5.5 month check.  Have not seen actual report, however, radiologist and oncologist noted that the nodule had "slight progression" in size.  No evidence of other growth or spread.  Discussed, again,  my hesitance to even pursue anything more due to the fact the only option would be chemo and the oncologist has previously stated that it is an "unproven" method and no actual data to show if it would increase lifespan or even actually help.  Risks typically outweigh benefits with sickness and other negative side effects... sooooo... he actually felt that at this time to just continue to monitor and suggested a repeat of rads in about 2-3 months or so. Will look to schedule toward end of summer for another update.  At this time,  Fuzz is doing very well.  Outside of his missing front leg, and me knowing what is actually going on with him, you would not know anything wrong with him.  He plays, he eats well ( has not had change in weight since his amputation-weight has stayed same this entire 7 months) and above all he is his most outgoing loveable self!  He is on no medication, but I found another mushroom blend supplement that I am adding to his daily food.  I have read about so many using mushrooms and their qualities to fight and combat various cancers in both cats, dogs and humans.  Fuzz has taken to the Covid-19 quarantine well.   Despite me still having to work (corrections) every day, my off time has strictly been home with the fur baby crew.  Attached again is another updated Fuzz picture.. the little Fuzzworm he is!

Gosh he is such a good lookin' kitty. And such a role model for showing that yep, once that leg is gone it's back to the usual business of being a cat. No looking back, just living life one day at a time.

Just curious what type of chemo drug the oncologist mentioned? I have seen a few university studies out there that are treating cats with lung metastasis using experimental methods.

I'm so glad you checked back, it's always good to know how he's doing. And you too, stay healthy!

It's great to hear Fuzz is doing so well and still as beautiful as ever.

I wanted to give another perspective on lung metastasis and xrays. I had a cat with malignant melanoma (untreatable skin cancer) and was told it would spread to his lungs and new lesions would emerge through his skin. I asked if lung xrays were needed and she said no because there was no treatment (this was about 20 years ago) and I would notice it was in his lungs because he would get a little cough. She advised me to save the money and the stress (for me and the cat) of repeated xrays. My focus was to ensure he was comfortable and happy.

Perhaps there are experimental methods as Jerry suggested or you continue to proceed as is. Whatever you choose will be whatever is best for you and Fuzz. I wish him many more days and years of hopping around doing cat things smiley4

Oh Fuzz, you continue  to melt my heart with every photo!,❤

All things considered,  this is a pretty darn  "clinical" check up!   Add to the fact that there is very little growth that Fuzz is being his happy Fuzzworm self....yeah good news!  And on this journey, tje fact that Fuzz feels good and is his happy self is all that matters.

Thanks for the update AND the wonderful  photo😊

Hugs
