Dear Prince Huckleberry! You are showing your pawrents just a tiny picture of what is to come when the whole house is open for your timely pleasures!!! They can’t take the legs off of everything you know! Or could they?!🤔😈

Jackie and David, you KNOW you’re good pawrents when you start to rearrange the household for a small, tiny, innocent, scared, insecure, helpless, feral, fur baby!!! 😂 You guys are great! Paul and I just stand the whole bed up against the wall when the spare room becomes the cat nursery!

Until the next test Hoomans!!!😈👹😼😻

What a character!!  You are certainly a very strong-willed and determined kitty!! 🙂

I thinkmit was Bruiser Bruno's Mom who cut the legs off their loveseat so he could get up on it with ease! 🙂  He was a Bulldog.  I think Huckleberry is  part Bulldog! 🙂

I agree Petra, A dy and Huckleberry have some amaziw hoomanx! 🙂

Amazing pawrents!!  I agree!

Rusty eventually made a bed out of the blankets we used to block the bed😝. Once his cone was off, all bets were off!

l am very lucky though. No meds to have to retrieve him for!!

you guys keep rocking this!!

Rusty "The Bunnyman" adopted us in 2014.  Aug/Sept 2017, back left leg amputated (HSA cancer).  He remained cancer free over 900 days. Cancer returned as of emergency visit on day 931. 15 days later, he gained his wings 04/18/2020 due to congestive heart failure.  He will always watch over his fellow tripawds and their hoomins with Head Scritches and Sand Paper Kisses.

Wooooaaaah! I'm so glad you were able to get him out of there. Good idea to remove the frame. We had a member join here because her kitty lost a leg when she got it stuck in the box spring mattress!

Huck you are going to give us heart attacks, take it easy friend. oh-my

Good morning everybody!

Thanks for the positive reinforcement.  I had visions of him getting into a bad spot and not being able to get out. He always hops over when I get out of work,  not yesterday.

He barely let David pet him yesterday,  just hid in his little spot.  I also have to consider the socialization part of this therapy.  Some hiding from the hoomans is just being a cat but with him out wouldn't take a lot for him to revert back to his mote feral ways.  It's just engrained in him.

David said he was going to take his phone upstairs when he gets him run the room today to see what his reaction will be lolclown

Sorry,  I have spent the evening trying to connect via desktop to no avail.

Update! Huckleberry  decided he likes on top of the bed.  He also likes the attentionwinker David got plenty and so did I.

Andy on the other hand... Well you have to see it laughing

Andy is a true sport!!! He is a very docile cat isn’t he?! Good boy Andy!

Now Mr. Huckleberry, you are going a little hard on Andy there... you can’t cover those little love bites with the licky, licky sessions there lovey!

Am I seeing the video right Jackie, I’m not sure if it’s slightly sped up or not... I think I am seeing Huckleberry give Andy little bites after each licky session? That is definitely a dominant behaviour and used to start horrendous fights between Spikey and our Spirit boy Odus! Andy is brilliant and seems to love the attention! I just thought I would let you know what I THINK I am seeing. Please let me know if I’m totally off the mark...

If it is Huckleberry being a little too dominant, you could try distracting him with either toys or food? Otherwise, Huckleberry seems to be doing really well heh?! Good boys Huck’s, just be gentle lovey!😘

Hi! Yes,  sometimes Huck goes overboard in the lovey and nibble.  He cleans himself the same way.  Sometimes he will stop and then they just lay next to each other.  That time,  Andy had enough a few minutes later and asked to be excused from the bedroom,  David graciously complied lol. He can be a little rough houser sometimes .  He and Oscar play a bit harder.  He seems to be learning though.  Another reason why I don't think he's ready to run the house yet for a while. He needs to learn more manners.  He seems to be getting it though.  Incur under the bed was taken away he has calmed a bit.

😂 he is being taught by a true gentleman in Andy!😽 Oscar is probably over the moon that he has found a playmate that can keep up!😼

Yeah, it’s probably a wise idea to keep Huckleberry ‘quarantined’ for a while longer... it certainly isn’t doing him any harm in there for now. He is doing incredibly well and time and patience is al this spirited young fella needs! I have trained Miss Lily to come running to the rattle of the treat container. For the most part, she can’t resist a bit of kibble. (She has been in remission for the past year, from kitty diabetes and is only allowed DM food. So Chester’s Kibble is ALWAYS A WINNER!) So whether she is hiding somewhere in the house, or if there is a moment of “hissey/pissy” moments between her and Chester, she can never resist the moments with her treats! She is also one for needing constant reassurance and LOVES to be told that she is a good girl! (She’s the only other female in the house, so we do tend to coddle each other!😽😻

Have a great day with your handsome Pride!😻😻😻

I agree,  Andy is a saint.  You should have seen how good he was with Oscar.  And to think he was a throw away because he didn't get along with other cats...

I think he's going to give even Oscar a run for his money,  Oscar is big and ruff and tough...(in his head, lol)

In all fairness though,  I wonder how much of his agitation comes from the surgical site. He's so laid back mostly,  but then he's hyper and that's when he gets rough.  That's also when I have gotten bitten. If his dang medicine would get here i could probably get more info,  ya know? The half dose of 50 mg does seem to be making a very  small difference but his last dose was this morning til the prescription cones in.

Big hugs

Hoppy Friday Everybody!!!! WoooHooo
I thought the week would NEVER end! It's been busy, stressful, just exhausting. The week has ended well though. Our Prince Huckle Schmuckel, Kissy Face Bumpkins has made some pretty good progress this week clap

He is running the room more the last few days, crate less. Moving the bed frame ( as much of a PITA as that was ) might have been our smartest move yet. His gaba is STILL not in mad but the Zylkene was delivered yesterday and he has had 2 doses of it. Today, without the "under the bed" antics available.. Oscar introduced him to THE WINDOW! I wish I had been there to see and take pics. Oscar moved the blind and was looking out the window, Huck was mesmerized! David left for a few minutes and when he came back guess who was in the window?? Yours truly, lol. He also found the night stand, which the top of makes a GREAT seat!  UNDER the night stand is a space.. it is a Huckleberry space for when he needs time out. He can see us and observe from a distance when he gets scared. We haven't let him know that we can get to him there. David and I decided to keep that OUR secret lmao.

TODAY! Was a little different. I am not certain if this "supplement" is magic or if our little boy is adjusting. He watches and mimics Oscar and Andy like a kitten, always looking for advise before acting. He layed on the bed with David for quite a while today and got lots of loving. When I got home from work I went upstairs. First thing he does (routine) is go to the crate and sit in his box waiting for me to come sit down and love him. I didn't. I layed on the bed. Huck was like WTH?? I got up, scratched his chin and as he leaned in I went back to the bed, he went back to the box. I went over again and he about threw himself on me. The opportunity presented itself: I rubbed down the top of his head, the other hand moved down under him and I SCOOPED HIM! Slowly I hugged him close and CARRIED HIM to the bed. I sat with him and let him go. Fear flight turned into WOW and he ran over to me butting me with his head and purring. I layed down and he layed UNDER MY HEAD! Then he was laying over my head butting me so hard it was funny. He purred, stretched out right near mama and tucked himself into me to sleep for a while. I almost cried.  He moved again so that he was tucked under my arm. I felt like mama kitty and her baby, it was priceless. For a 2 year old cat, he is finally going through his kitten hood and the world is his to explore. There is no price that anybody could pay for what I experienced tonight. He took a poopicon_png*itty week and turned it into gold. I had to share it, I feel so lucky.

Big hugs heart

Jackie
