I went upstairs after my last post to find the boys (David asleep on the bed, Huckleberry exploring the floor) relaxed and hanging out. I reached over to pet Huckleberry and I got that look. It's the look I remember when he was outside, free, and not letting me touch him. I went slow and he was ok, kinda backed up a bit. Every time I moved he backed up around the bed. He kept backing up and once he hit a dead end he was almost in panic mode. I could see him weighing his flight options so I slowly and quietly went to the door to find Andy on the other side. I let him in. He wandered over to my mortified Huckleberry, turned around, and showed my boy the way out of his predicament. OMC it was adorable! As soon as Huckleberry found his crate he calmed down and started to follow Andy wherever he went. He makes cute cooing noises to Andy and has an obsession with giving the big fur ball a bath! Andy layed down next to me, Huckleberry followed suit. Andy relaxed, Huck knitted. It was amazing. Andy and Huck are becoming fast friends, does my heart good 🙂

Such a good update!! 🙂
Andy is an excellent role model to show a feral kitty how to be a domestic hoise kitty! 🙂
When yiu think about EVERYTHING HUCKLEBERRY has been through, he is making phenomenal progress!! You are doing an excellent job of "reading" him and giving him the space he needs ro adjust to all this "newness". His whole world must feel a little upside down right now. Glad he has his crate as his safe harbour. Very sweet.
Really glad he and Andy are becoming buddies. So sweet.
Hugs
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Huckleberry is at his furever home and he will adjust to all the newness, he already loves his humans and obviously has a real fondness for Andy;) That is so cute !
Huckleberry has found his comfort zone & everyday I think you will see changes in him. I would leave his crate until he no longer wants the crate! He will tell you when that is.
I have no doubt he is going to adjust well ! So sweet of Andy to come in and lead the way. They are furever buds!!!
Considering all that has happened with Huckleberry, I think you are further along that anyone could of hoped for!
Thanks for the update !
I'm soooo hoppy things are working out and life is falling into place for Huck and everyone in the house. LOVE the photos, am so glad you decided to give them a try. I've never used Amazon's service, good job!

I'm smiling and my eyes are a little moist😽, thanks for the positive reinforcement. He only bit me once today, lol...I am definitely trying to hold tight to instinct to watch for him getting agitated, but sometimes I think he just has a moment then he snaps out of it and is loving and cuddly like it never happened. He has free run of the room right now, will be interesting to see what I find here shortly. I'm not ready to leave the two boys alone unattended yet, but so far its off to a good start.
My plan is to keep the crate up as long as we need it. Once he has full run of the house I may bring the crate downstairs where it was just in case he needs it. When it starts getting dusty ill take it down, lol. I think mom and dad are worried that their bedroom is forever gone lol. That's the room they use when they visit (mom is allergic to cats🤤🤤) Thank you again, nice to feel like I'm blundering down the path in the right direction🤗

My heart is so full reading these updates! This is wonderful!
Rusty "The Bunnyman" adopted us in 2014. Aug/Sept 2017, back left leg amputated (HSA cancer). He remained cancer free over 900 days. Cancer returned as of emergency visit on day 931. 15 days later, he gained his wings 04/18/2020 due to congestive heart failure. He will always watch over his fellow tripawds and their hoomins with Head Scritches and Sand Paper Kisses.
Hello Jackie
Huckleberry is a very strong willed fella and does things on his terms. David was ‘safe’ because he was sleeping and wasn’t paying attention to Prince Huck’s... next time you go in and he gives you attitude, start doing something in the room, like dusting or something... (Okay you don’t have to do housework!) but my point is that you should make it look like you aren’t making special trips into his new domain, just for him, let him know that it’s not always about him!😽 he has to learn that spaces are to be shared and not to be worried when things are ‘happening’ around him. I used to sit in Lily’s room and read my books or chat on the phone. I would literally spend hours in there, ignoring her. Lily would and still watches us intently, like we’re from another planet or something!!! 👽😂 When he gets used to you just moving normally around the room, then you can think about the next stage of his entry into his new kingdom!
Distraction with toys works brilliantly for Miss Lily. She’s not keen on things flying over her head, but she loves her toys on strings and balls and anything I can find that makes small noises.
Keep in mind that if Huckleberry has a ‘wild’ moment, he will attack if he feels cornered, don’t take it personally, they just go to a red zone and like dogs, it is extremely hard to just snap them out of the intense ness of the moment. Andy and Oscar may not be used to the sudden hissy fits. It sure seems like they know what to do for him though, you could probably learn a thing or two from them!😜
give them all a head rub from me please.
so here’s my next question.... what did you use to get your fantastic pictures downloaded? As you can see I use Instagram, ‘cause it works... but I could be downloading more pictures if I didn’t have to always Instagram them! I tried copying a Facebook picture but that didn’t work... I can’t even figure out how to download from the word press media library that I have set up for Stewie’s blogs.
If you or anyone else can help, that’d be grrreat!
Amazon didn't work, i went back to the way i have done it before. It kept wanting to leave a link for people to view my photos but out would not post them. Either i haven't learned correctly or its not worth the effort.
Heads up, just got an error message on the last post like the site didn't exist. Get your seatbelts on, Just in case the ride gets bumpy!

Oh I didn't check the photo URLs. I'm totally Okay giving you a photo tutorial some day if you'd like, just Private Message me when you are ready OK? The hassles you've had are a bummer but we think the pics are SO worth it, we love seeing them!
The site is undergoing some back-end fine-tuning right now so that's why the message appeared. Sorry about that.

Thank you Jerry’s Pack! Thanks anyway Jackie!
i am having to go and cook supper in a minute. you guys are so in this for me! Thank you!
Jerry will it be okay to pm you tomorrow morning and get some tips?
So sorry Petra, I came back in after the post to find a bunch of posts that I hadn't seen. I missed like 3 or 4 after that error message. My pictures are loaded on to Wordpress.com. That is how I get the pictures on here. I had to make an account and I think that's how I opened the blog that I am working on. The videos are through YouTube. I would be happy to try and maneuver it again with you to see if you can get it. I find it easier to upload pics from my phone and then make my post with my PC. I have by no means mastered it, its just determination lol.
Jerry, I would really like that. I could use some more input on this.. it is all new to me. When I tried to use Amazon drive, I right clicked and copied, but in here my error message was to hit Ctrl + V. I did it a dozen times but it wouldn't work. I even tried Ctrl + C on the picture first, still nothing. I went back to WordPress and uploaded the pics there.

We are always happy to give pointers, PM us any time to set up a chat either on the phone or in the Tripawds Chat room. That's often faster and easier than trying to figure it out here.

So while I was at work, David got to see the kitten in Huckleberry. After a complete bath on the rug, Huck chased his tail for almost a full minute. A while later he played footsies under the door with Oscar. When i got home i let Huckleberry and Andy try some one on one time without the humans. I went back up to check on them and Oscar said 'nuff ma, my turn to meet and greet:
