Great article on our Cats Purr if anyone has not read or listened to
Tripawd Cats Pain Management Tips and Tricks
Stephen Cital:
"And this is going to be really shocking but purring can also be a sign of pain. Purring does not necessarily mean that they are happy all the time. We know that cats in the wild, they can purr at certain frequencies to actually heal the bone which is pretty amazing because we are trying to take some of that natureโs technology and apply it to humans in creating certain things that are creating the same frequency as a purr because it helps stimulate bone growth which is crazy, right?"
this article explains a little more in-depth about the purr - pain and bone growth Stephan discussed & a lot more.
The Complicated Truth About a Catโs Purr
Take the time to read if you have a cat you will appreciate the article!
PURRkins;)

I don't have a cat right now but I sure got some knowledge out of it. I love how it ends with a universal truth whether it's about a cat, dog or any animal:
Ultimately, the quest to define the meaning of a purr may benefit from getting to know catsโ body language better โ from the periscope tail of a friendly cat in sociable mood to the wide eyes and bent-back whiskers of a cat in fight mode. With this deeper knowledge, the bond between cat and owner can only grow.
Thank you so much for sharing Holly! When Stephen first told us about purring and bone growth I was surprised, had no idea! This article totally delves into it and was a treat to read.ย

Glad you enjoyed!
Yes, I read it and thought of Stephen's article pretty amazing they heal bone and soft tissue & US too.
That is how I picked Purrkins name he is a purrbot! He purrs so loud and often. Saxton's purr is not nearly as loud as Purrkins rumble.
I have seen Saxton purr at the vet and his nose drip all stress signs there is a difference in his purr and I have learned the difference thru the years by the body language associated with the purr that is another reason I loved this article.
Cats are interesting and I love to see more research and science being done to figure them out;)
Ya interesting. My cats don't usually purr unless they're on my chest or in my lap. Neither purrs at the vet (I'm not sure if that's good or not lol)
Something else interesting - Jet will hiss, which I initially thought as negative, but he often does it while playing, even when playing by himself. I don't think I've ever heard Jery hiss.
Jet also loves to knead, Jery rarely does.
And you mentioned the nose drip, Holly. Sometimes Jery will lay (or stand) on my chest when I'm in bed and will drip - I thought it was drool, but maybe it's nose drip? I figured she was drooling because she was so relaxed.

You got that right!!

I think that's a good thing less confusing right!

I have never had the boys hiss and play, but they both have growled and taken off with the toy: my catch, my prey grrr...
I am guessing... Jet is doing the same thing with the hiss since he is doing it solo too...
Both the boys knead, but Purrkins does more. Minus a front leg has not changed that his little muscle moves where the leg was. He is still kneading with 2;)
I've only had the nose drip at the vet. Saxton only just like with us we all stress differently. Saxton would rather be left at home;) Can't blame him!

Jery's very well could be drool from her being so relaxed. Got me? I have not experienced that one:) Interesting!

I imagine it's harder to determine red flags in dogs, since they are always drooling ๐ย ย
Nope, you won'tย see a cat doing this if you say the word "cookie"๐

Sally, I would have chosen the video where Myrtle is going thru Starbucks drive-thru and goobers the drive-thru person ๐ That was classic! OMC I looked on your youtube page and didn't see it. It must be unlisted.
Extra Cookies for Miss Myrtle for the demo
