Hey everypawdy, it’s almost the end of the year, and today we’re hoppy to share one of the final inspawrational tales of 2020: Tripawd Tuesday: Radar’s Radiation Therapy Rebound!
Here’s a short but sweet story about radiation therapy gone wrong, and one strong doggie now growing older gracefully into the three-legged life.
Tripawd Tuesday: Radar’s Rebound
Meet Radar, aka @dreamteamradar. Here’s story, as told by his dad.
“23rd December 2016 diagnosed with a mast cell tumour on his paw.
Had it surgically removed along with the lymph node in his shoulder and started radiotherapy.
It went really badly, and intensive care twice and his paw basically dissolved.
Vets thought they could save it so kept trying stuff but eventually on July 2017 they had to amputate.
So he’s now 3.5 Yr as a tripawd and 12.5 years old. But the last month he’s been really bad.
Had xray on Monday and shows osteophytes and bad degeneration of the joint so we’re on borrowed time 😢💔
Sadly, today we learned that Radar’s health is not so great because of degenerative joint disease. We send all our love and healing wishes to this sweet boy. May Radar and his dad more beautiful times together.
