All Hail Queen Nova!
Queen Nova the Great Dane was diagnosed with osteosarcoma when she was 5 years old and became a Tripawd in November 2008. The wonderful folks at Tripawds have been there to guide and support us from the very beginning. I am proud to say that Nova has beaten bone cancer for over 4 YEARS (and counting!).
I was worried about whether or not a giant Great Dane could handle life on 3 legs, but to my amazement she adapted almost instantly.
Soon she was hopping around at her normal pace and was back to her old self. About a year after her amputation, Nova lost her sight entirely (due to glaucoma), but once again she adapted quickly to life as a blind Tripawd.
She is truly a miracle on 3 paws! Today, she is a 9-year-old senior girl whose long-term survival continues to give hope to new Tripawds battling bone cancer.
Long Live the Queen!
