Sid was a three year old racing greyhound, just doing his job. He liked to be out in front by the first bend or he didn’t really try … until his last race. Bad call, Sid. Down he went at the first bend with a broken hock.
He had a good owner who paid for surgery to mend his hock, but it was completely shattered and the vet could not save his leg. He went home as a tripod, but was never sent back to the kennel block – his trainer took him into her house and we adopted him from there.
