Casey is a Golden, so he has the under coat and guard coat to grow back, but this is happening slowly.  At 5 months post amp, his undercoat has recovered, but not his guard coat.

In the grand scheme, this isn't a BIG deal, but . . .

Other Golden owners, how long before your tripawd's coat recovered?

Not a golden owner, but my border collie has the same kind of coat. I’m wondering the same thing. Although we are only 3 weeks from amputation right now. Hope someone has an answer for you!

My Pug Maggie had a double coat.  It was months before it all grew back so you couldn't see a 'line' in her fur, I don't remember exactly how long but it was more than 6 months.  She also started chemo two weeks post amp and although dogs don't lose fur like people lose hair I think that had something to do with the slow growth- she also had some thinning fur on her chest.  Her chemo took about 6 months (mast cell cancer) and I know it was after chemo was done before it all filled in.

Tri-pug Maggie survived a 4.5 year mast cell cancer battle only to be lost to oral melanoma.
