Thank you all for your kind words and support, it really has been so much help.

We are utterly devastated and this is going to take a long time to sink in.  It's just so unfair.  But, the good news is that I didn't have my first cry today until lunchtime, which was an improvement on yesterday when I don't think I'd stopped since Wednesday night!  laughing

This was the last picture taken of Luther, with Roxy, enjoying the late summer sunshine on Tuesday afternoon.  I can't believe that just over 24 hours later he was no longer with us.  sad

I will love you to the moon and stars my wonderful boy.  Run free, enjoy the peace you will now have from your sister not being able to bug you and remember that you will remain in our hearts for eternity.  Thank you for being you, the most wonderful dog anyone could wish to meet and thank you for making it so easy to love you.  As I always sang to you when you felt poorly "You are my sunshine, my Bear sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey.  You don't know Bear how much I love you, please don't ever go away".  You have gone away, but that's ok because I can still hear you snoring from wherever you're snoozing from right now.  xxx

Awwww look at those sweeties.

You're so right, angel's voices (and snoring!) can be heard all the way here on earth, they are always singing and surrounding us with love if we just stop long enough, pause, be still and listen. Luther Bear is always by your side.

I am so sorry to hear of Luther's passing. It is so hard to let them go. Look for him, he is still with you. Watch for those pennies and dimes. Keep those good times you shared in your heart. They do help us heal. Take your time, grieving is such an individual process. Don't let anyone rush you through it. Stay close here. We have been there, we know all the emotions that go with this journey. Thinking of you, hugs from, Lori and Ty

TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed  and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.

I thought you might like to know that we have welcomed a new member of the family.  Please meet Woody.  Woody is a 5 year old who we adopted from the same rescue as Luther.  He has lived with 4 kids and 6 cats and is utterly wonderful.  He has a very similar temperament to Luther, he's about the same size (52kg!) and melts our hearts, but the biggest difference is that he has more than one gear!!

As you all know, losing Luther broke our hearts and there will never be another dog who will be able to reach the dizzy heights of the pedestal that we put him on, but he left such a big bear shaped hole in our lives, we had to fill it and Woody is doing the trick nicely.

Roxy is doing so well with him although I'm sure that her eyes are asking me when he's leaving!  When we brought Luther home last summer, she was a real stroppy mare for a long time, but she seems to be tolerating Woody a bit more, which is good.  Woody is taking his time to settle, but he's got all the makings of being a wonderful boy.

I hope and pray that I never have to tell a sad tale about Woody on this forum, but I'm also realistic, especially with everything we went through with Luther so as much as I hope that you don't hear from me again, if you do, I look forward to speaking to you.

Well, I just called Woody Roxy....ard to keep the names straight of the lotto winners!!! Any dog who gets a forever home with you should all jave the middle name of Lucky.

I know your heart still aches for Luther Bear and the void is still huge. Seeing those pictures of Roxy and Luther so hap p y, so content.....yeah, hold that memory close..that's what Luther wants you to remember.

I also knw that Luther sent you Woody to help fill that void and to put some coor back into your grey days. And Bear picked a very, very handsome and adorable boy to help bringnyou smiles! You are incredibly kind souls ton help so many dogs in need. What a treasure you are to them.

Yes, please stay connected tonis. Share more about Luther. I love that you sang to him...and I know he loved it too. That mug ofnhis will always melt my heart...every single time. We all fell in love with sthat sweet boy.

And now we get to follow Rocky's journey as he settles into hisforever home with you and Roxy!!!What a great pack!!!

Thanks for sharing the joy of having thatnhigh energy Woody in your loves! He is just adorable!!!

Luther Bear will ALWAYS be remembered here!!!

Sending ove and hugs!

I just read this post about your Luther Bear.  I am so sorry for your loss of Bear, what a handsome boy.

I really find Bear's journey with "C" interesting because it seems like what my Bailey went through with chemo and my husband wanted to stop and I was like "what if".

I know your Bear went to Heaven knowing he was loved by his family and anyone that he met.  He's a superstar for being so strong.

I noticed you posted a picture of a new addition to the family, a rescue that is AWESOME!

I'm really sorry for posting so late but this web site is amazing and the support here is like none other.

Prayers sent your way and may God wrap his arms around you to comfort you at this time.

HUGS,

Tracy and Bailey
