Thank you all for the warm, kind words. I'm hoping to update her blog tonight and share some older pictures of her.

Today has gone a lot better than I expected. Things don't feel as heavy. The hardest part has been when my 1.5 yo asks about her. She went to "Kender's room" this morning and knocked on the door saying "Kitty!" then later peeked out the window where we used to see her laying in her favorite spot asking "Kitty?" and then again in her carrier :(

We took her paw prints in plaster, as best we could, last night. She is buried near the back fence, close to the maple tree that fills up with birds so that she can always watch them while being in the sun. Next spring I plan to plant something nice over her burial spot.

I got a call in the middle of typing this from the vet. Dalamar (other kitty) also has kidney disease... MUCH less severe than Kender's was though and pancreatitis. If we hadn't gone through all of this with her, I would've waited who knows how long before getting Dal a check up and bloodwork. In her death, she likely saved his life <3 And I already have some good resources for information so it doesn't seem nearly as frightening as it might have.

WOW! I know it took a lot to get through this day starting with your child callingnfor her. Tough...incredibly tough.

And then to get the news about Dalamar...whew....this is a lot to deal with. You are a very strong and courageous soul! A lovely roll model for your child on so many levels.

Her resring place is exquiste...a perfect and well thought out little tribute corner for Kender. I bet this Fall the Maple tree will put forth exceptionally beautifully colored leaves.
That Kender keeps giving in such a lofe affirming way.....oh my goodness! Kender KNEW you and Dalamar were on the way to be by her side yesterday...and she is still showing you she is by your side. Talk ab o ut a Guardian Angel....she is the epitome of a Guardian!!!

And yes, because of Kender, you are better equipped to proceed forward with strength and knowledge to help Dalamar.

Make no mistake world.....Kender's life mattered....Kender is still making a difference...a life affirming difference.

Thank you for posting today. I know you still jave some rough spots ahead...just know we are here for you. I look forward to more stories and pictures of Kender...and Dalamar too!

Melinda,

Please accept my heartfelt and sincere condolences in the loss of your sweet kitty Kender......I was so very much hoping she would turn the corner with some intervention at her vets office. I am sitting and shedding a few tears for Kender, she was certainly a beautiful little girl.

Hoping your heartbreak eases with time, and happy memories remain within your heart always.....

Keeping you, your family, and other sweet kitty Dalamar in my thoughts and prayers,

Love,

Bonnie & Angel Polly
