This would make is easier to connect with local members (for tripawds pawties
) You could also add vets, PT facilities etc. in different color pins. Just a thought. Maybe its too complicated.

Easier said than done! But funny you should mention it… we've actually been in touch with some developers about making a plugin to simplify the process. For now it would require manually gathering everyone's location data and editing a Google Map.
Until then, if anyone wants to do this, please feel free to go for it and send us the embed code!

I think that would be great to have a map of our locations. I think I will put a map of my location in my blog. That is if I can figure out how to do it.

If you save a googlemap at the appropriate size to fit your sidebar, you *may* be able to embed it in a text widget, though you will most likely be unable to embed it in a page, for security reasons.

That's great! Other bloggers might consider doing the same… just make sure the page link is functional! 
Daisy's original request, however – which we're still investigating – is to have a common map of all user locations. An interim solution until we figure that out may be a public googlemap where members can add their location. Hmmmm…

If there is enough interest from others here, we'll create a public map that everyone can update. Updating the map would require having a Google account, and the downside may be that ANYONE with an account would be able to edit the map.
