Happy A-Day Woo!  You are an inspiration to us Newbies!

Lisa and Zeus

Zeus was a Husky mix diagnosed with Osteosarcoma at age 11.  A visible lung met and suspicious spot on his liver meant a poor prognosis-six weeks was our vet's best guess. We decided to fight for our boy and his right front leg was amputated on 12/1/11. We did six rounds of chemo, changed his diet and spoiled him completely rotten. We were blessed with 10 great months after diagnosis. Against the odds, the lung met remained a single met and grew very little over those months. A wonderful furbaby with the most gentle spirit, he fought with a strength that we never imagined he possessed. We have no regrets...

Hey, your Woman remembered! I think she should get a special treat, too!

My Woman went to the grocery store today and came home with a box of really special, nasty treat stuff. She said we can have some for Rio. She said something about "Zombieland" and trying to explain to my Boy what a Twinkie is, 'cause he's never seen one. So she brought home a box of these nasty Twinkie things. She said they are treats worthy of ampuversaries, and you are today and then there's  me and then Bud. So Twinkies for us all!

You are a special, special girl, Woo. You are tough and that's why I like you.

Love, Dakota

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

Hey, Dakota, I never ate a Twinkie before. That's what my momma calls Zephyr! A Twinkie-head!

(And she remembered cuz she had help from her friends wink)

Dakota took his Twinkie half and delicately laid it on the floor. When Evelyn looked at it, he kind of reluctantly ate it. Kind of. Maybe not very reluctantly, but come on--who puts their Twinkie on the floor? Aidan ate his and when I asked if it was worth all the hassle the Twinkies caused in "Zombieland," he said "nope, but a DingDong would be!" I had no idea he'd ever had a DingDong. So now I know what to buy for your ONE YEAR celebration next month, missy! DingDongs for Zephyr and Evelyn!

Aidan is so right - a DingDong is vastly superior to a Twinkie!

Getting ideas for all sorts of new treats to tempt Abby with...

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!

Woo! Woo! Way to go Rio! Wishing you many more! YOU ROCK!

Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end.  On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kicking those little "mastards" collective you-know-whats!  Ajax sends a kiss and wonders what is Rio's favorite celebratory treat as he would like to have one.
