Today Johnnie had his 2nd onco checkup appointment post-chemo.  Good news - all normal.  Lung X-rays are clear, ultrassound of the abdomen showed everything in there is ok, and blood works also ok, except for the platelets.  The minimum is 150.000, in January he had 301.000 and this time it was 108.000.  We are repeating this part of the hemogram to see if it confirms this, and then try to discover why.  All other counts are totally normal.  Don't know if this could be a side-effect of the Apocaps ....  He is taking 5 capsules/day.

These check-ups are very stressful for the moms.  Since Thursday, when he had the x-rays and other exams, I've been waking up in the middle of the night and today I was awake before 5 am with an awful headache.  Fortunately the dogs don't know what's going on.  Of course he is not very fond of going to the vet, and it is a stressful event.  Back home, Johnnie had lunch and slept all afternoon.  Mommy went to work.

Countdown for Johnnie's 1-yr ampuversary on May 20th, and 7th birthday on June 20.  Since he is allergic to gluten and lactose, will have to think of a nice and healthy way to celebrate with something that resembles a cake.

hugs to all,

Daniela

Keep on kicking cancer's butt!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

p.s. just got the new blood result: 430.000 platelets.   Onco said: see you in three months.  Yay !

However, just to stay on the safe side, will add more green vegetables to his diet.

cheers to all,

Daniela

Hello to all.

With a little delay, here is a new video of Johnnie, playing with Pepa after the pool.

Yesterday we celebrated his 11-month ampuversary.  Big one year celebration right around the corner - May 20th - and hopefully with the whole human pack.

Today is a holiday in Brazil, and we are enjoying a week of  "Brazilian Indian Summer", which is good - warmer than it should be at this time of the year means dog fun.  We had a nice walk today, and three dips in the pool.

Short video, but enough to check out Johnnie's tripawd hop and Pepa's 360 turns.  At 70 lbs, Pepa is as agile as a poodle.

After playing, Johnnie went to check out the soccer game with dad - Barcelona and Paris St. Germain.

Enjoy !

Pawesome! Mind is we use that clip? No promises we will, just looking for permissions for if/when we produce the new Tripawds video trailer. We are still looking for clips of dogs and cats if anypawdy is interested.

Feel free to use all you want - photos and videos.   I'm going to try to edit something nice for his 1-yr ampuversary which is one month from now, with a slideshow of before and after.
