It's like a storm is coming. Everyone is restless and I'm spending a lot of time prepping the house. Today was "if you build it, they will go (potty)" day.  Astronaut has been having trouble hopping down the narrow back steps to go do his business, so today was ramp building 101. Glad those shop classes in high school finally got put to use.... It ain't pretty, but it works (possibly a metaphor for my life).

But at least all the dogs are using it like it's the greatest thing ever. #winning

Very impressive. I just love the way Rosie and Astro are standing in the doorway observing the work in progress heart

Ruby, Staffy, born June 2022, became a Tripawd, 23 November 2023, adopted 12 January 2024.

Also Angel Tripawd Meg (aka The Megastar), who died in April 2023, aged 14, after seven glorious years on three, and Angel Staffies Pie and Bille. In the pawprints of giants...

AH HA HA HA.  I bought him a onesie. No, seriously.

He may hate me a little bit right at this moment, but mostly he is resigning himself to the abject humiliation.

Ok, but seriously. Astronaut has some anxiety issues (loud noises/strange situations/new things/etc) but we've had pretty good success with using a homemade thundershirt on him if we know trouble is coming (4th of july, anyone?) and it does seem to help calm him. SOOOO, I saw these hilarious 'surgical suits' on Amazon and I could not help myself. They are purported to help prevent licking at the wound, etc, but we are just treating it like a full body thundershirt/tee shirt for him. We will actually end up using it post-surgery? Who knows, but we are having a pretty good chuckle over his "manly onesie" today. Poor bugger just can't get a break. laughing

Hugs to all,

He has the best face ever. Those chops! Astro, you'd look handsome in anything. And at least Momma chose you a manly blue. Is it camo? I think it's camo. No one will notice, Astro, I promise. No one will notice you at all. NOT!!!!! laughing

LOVE it! That's his color!

Surgical suits can work pretty well on many animals, we'll be curious to see how it works for Astro.

Oh Astro!!! I'm sorry to be laughing sweet bou! We humans can be rotten sometimes. But that look in your face.....OMD!!! It says it all!!!

I certainly hope you a smoother recovery, HOWEVER, if you give your humans a few sleepless nights by acting like you have to go potty...well.... a little bit of "onesie revenge" is a beautiful thing!! 🙂 🙂 🙂

A d yes, you are handsome no matter what!

Hugs!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Just getting caught up and absolutely loved reading about Astro. Really hate what all y'all are going through, but he (and Rosie) couldn't be in a better place.

🙂

Harmony became a Tripawd on 10/21/14 (MCT). She left us way too soon on 11/1/14.
