You aren't kidding about the stress of selling a house. This is our first time....and we're selling two at once. 
So much work!
Riley had her adequan injection last night. She seemed to be doing marginally better yesterday 
CUTENESS OVERLOAD GOING ON OVER AT RILEY'S HOUSE!!! Starting the day with a huge smile on my face thanks to all this adorableness!!
Looks like Miss Lily has her jealous issues under control in those pictures! I lpve looking at all their sleeping positions...sooooo cute!! And yeah, Riley looks like she's very annoyed with all the picture taking. But Riley, that's the price one must pay when they are a ROCK STAR so dang cute too!!!
And we LOVE seeing pictures of you and your pack!!

I'm sure that the dogs are picking up on all of the stress, it's not an easy situation for sure! Keep pawsitive and know that you'll soon look back on this and be stronger than ever! Glad she's feeling better today.

Riley was caught "meerkatting" last night. That's what we call it when they stand on their back legs without leaning their paws on anything. She was trying to see over the baby gate because her Dad was bagging up her sisters but not her! She went to- she just doesn't have any patience. Riley is NOT allowed to meerkat due to her knee issues, but she does what she wants!
I tell ua' what...this is the best post of the day! Maybe even all week! Yeah, definitely all week!!
That Riley isn't letting some weak legs interfere in her fun!!! She's truly having great quality, even if it looks a little different now! She's happy!!!! And when Riley's happy, the whole tripawd community is happy!! And of course, Mom and Dad are thrilled!! Even little Lily is happy...a bit jealous, but happy!!
You are doing a splendid job of loving in the moment! And don t be afraid ro "live" in your house while it's on the market! Sure, buyers want to see a "tidy" house, but they want to know it's homey and comfy too! So don't fret about perfection, okay? It can never be achieved anyway!!
Okay Riley...no meerkatting!! And if you ever watched the Meerkat Family on Discovery (or Animal Planet), I still think the crew should have intervened to save Flower!! That act of kindness would not have been anymore disruptive than cameras and human scent all sround the place! And if you didn't see the series...you jave NOOOOOOO idea what I'm talking about!!

Before Murphy's surgery, anytime he would yelp, Max would sort of attack him, too, like your Lily is doing. We could tell that it wasn't out of aggression, because he was trembling and seemed like he was confused by it. We ended up having to put a muzzle on him whenever we put the dogs outside just to protect Murphy. We never did figure out why he was doing it, maybe it's a "pick on the weaker one in the pack" sort of thing. It did stop, though, thankfully.

Murphy had his right front leg amputated due to histiocytic sarcoma at 7 years old. He survived 4 years, 2 months & 1 week, only to be taken by hemangiosarcoma at 11 1/2 years 6/12/17

Riley is still doing about the same. She has started eating some of her kibble though- if it's hand-fed.
I hope that they do go check out her knees. We probably waited too long.
No, you haven't "waited too long". You are exhausted, stressed, trying to get two houses sold and worrying about Riley. Geez! That's enough to make anyone feel down!! There was no reason to think this could be a knee thing. The."normal" assumptions would all be related to sloooow recovery...twists...slrains...sore muscles, etc.
But look at Riley! She's not worrying about a thing! She's enjoying the heck out of being hand fed and all the spoiling 24/7!
Hang jn there ! You've already shown you have incredible strength and courage! Lean on us, okay?
Just curious, what foods have you tried with Riley? Any home cooking? Chicken, scrambled eggs and cheese, steaks, etc. Hmmm...wonxer what Meerkats eat??

I am absolutely shattered to report that we were forced to euthanize our sweet Riley this morning. She took at turn for the worst yesterday and woke up this morning crying out in pain. Pain medications were not touching it. She continued to deteriorate at the vet's office and it became clear that she was suffering to much. We took her out to get a yummy breakfast. Then, she crossed the Rainbow bridge in my arms, with her Daddy and three sisters with her for love. Run free baby girl!
Noooooo. This is so sad, poor Riley! My heart goes out to you and the pack, I know this is so difficult. There is no getting around it, it hurts something awful. I hope that some day all of your beautiful memories with Riley will make you smile. How can they not, that sweet little Meercat.
May her sprit stay strong in your hearts and watch over all of you forever. Be good to each other and know that we all wrap our arms around you at this tough time. I'm so sorry.

My heart is just breaking for you and the tears are flowing. I'm so very, very, very sorry. I'm just shaking my head n disbelief. I think because she was responding so well, it sorta ' came as a shock.
A d she was doing well and I know she had the most spoiling any dog could have these last few wekks....a lifetime of spoiling and loving.
I know this journey has been difficult and full ofnups and downs because of the unforseen hurdles aweet Riley ended up facing after the amputation. But I also know you gave her THE best chance possible. There was no way you could not try and. no known reason not to try! And Riley relished every single extra bonus day she had with you. She would not have wanted it any other way. This was a sacred time that gave you more treasured memories to keep tucked safely in your heart.
PLEASE stay connected. No one understands the grief and the void you will be facing like we do. The intensity of loving and caring for a tripawd day in and day out...the routine...the watchi g their every move...everything is with a heightened awareness...and with more love than we ever knew existed.
As a result, the grief is seemingly unbearable. It's as though you don't think you can catch your next breath. You don't think the hurt and sadness will ever go away. It even seems like the next day is worse than the day before and you don't know how that's even possible!
And everyone who has been through this can tell you that eventually the pain lesse s. Eventually the good memories do come to the forefront more and more. Jerry always reminds us that our pets lived thousands and thousa ds of happy days with us and this was just a blink of an eye.
A d you can bet as she went running toward the Bridge on all four legs and pain free, all of our dogs and cats were there to greet her with her very own custom designed RV full of toys and ice cream and steaks and soft squishy beds!
I know one thing...even through the tears, if I scroll up and look at those pictures of Riley, I smile! She ks THE cutest little character! Her personality just bounces off the page.
When you can, please post more pictures and tell is more about this cutie pie! Her life matters to us and we all fell in love with her with your first post!

Until next time: Here is the first picture we ever took of Riley. It was her first day home from the rescue and about 10 weeks since she gave birth to a litter of pups (she was pregnant when her previous owner surrendered her to animal control). She came into our house and rounded up a bunch of chews and toys and just sat down for a rest!
