Today marks two months since Rocky went to the Bridge. Somehow it feels like just yesterday and an eternity ago at the same time.
David and Rocky (and Baxter now too!)
Rocky had his right front leg amputated on Valentine's Day 2017 after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma.
He joined the September Saints on September 3, 2017.
He is the toughest, bravest, sweetest and best friend I'll ever know.

Time is a funny thing isn’t it?! Rocky is with you for eternity and will love you more each passing human day!

Hey David,
I know what you mean. And each feeling is similar whether it be yesterday or a year ago. I was cleaning out a closet a few weeks ago and came across a Rosie toy. They never lasted long around Rosie, so mama would do "surgery" on them once or twice before replacing them, especially the ones she loved. It was one of those toys that I found. You smile and eyes fill all at the same time. Sometimes it is comforting for me to have things that belonged to her so there are some things that I did not get rid of. Hope you are doing ok.

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Hey David and Sally did you see that Rocky, Happy Hannah and Stewie made it into the new Tripawds Calendar?! The orange #23 issue! How cool is that you guys! Stewie is so hoppy to be in a calendar with soooo many of his friends, both here on earth with us and up at the 🌈 Bridge!

I haven't been around much of late, but wanted to stop by to mark Rocky's 9-month ampuversary. Although, I guess it doesn't matter anymore since he's whole again.
Crazy how that day feels like just yesterday and forever ago all at the same time.

Oh it definitely still needs to be marked. As it bought you extra time together. Extra time for love and spoiling. It’s a very significant day even now Rocky is whole again. I expect he will be celebrating by running zoomies with his friends at the bridge. You need to eat cake at the very least.

Ruby, Staffy, born June 2022, became a Tripawd, November 2023, adopted January 2024.
Also Angel Tripawd Meg (aka The Megastar), who died in April 2023, aged 14, after seven glorious years on three, and Angel Staffies Elsie Pie and Bille. In the pawprints of giants...

I agree, that ampuversary is the day that our lives change. There's no harm in remembering the emotions or the experience. In fact I think that by looking back you can see how far you've come, how much stronger you've gotten and reflect on the many ways that Rocky's life on three legs pawsitively impacted your own outlook on the world.
So here's to Rocky!
It's nice to see you David. Never feel badly about not being here. You'll always be a part of this community no matter how long you've been away.

I keep saying I'm going to try to be around more to help others just beginning the tripawd journey. But right now, it's hard at times.
Nine months ago today, I brought him home after the surgery. It was a tough day, but there was also a lot of hope that the worst was behind us and we'd kick cancer's butt for years to come.

Look at that beautiful boy Losing a loved one is so very hard. We are not in a race here, you take all the time that you need. I am glad to see that you check in and share your feelings. You are still grieving. I think it is safe to assume that everybody here understands that. Even just checking in to say hi, as you can see by the responses people are happy to see you, and that you are taking things day by day and trying to move forward. Please don't feel pressure, you suffered a big loss. And any time you pop in to say hi or share feelings you are so very welcome. I am still kind of new here, but I do not feel like I have overstepped my boundaries by saying this to you. You just take care of you, and Rocky is up there watching over his papa too! You see the signs frequently
