I have been watching your story for a few days now. I came here because I have a kitty that had to have his leg amputated yesterday. The people here are beyond wonderful. Your story touches my heart. I had a pittie named Rosie. She was a throw away from back in the day when I worked at an animal hospital in R.I.  She came to me  hit by a car, being carried in by our animal control officer.  I was part of her emergency care.  She was homeless, and she almost died...was hit right in the head. I took her home with me when we got her stabilized. She was hand shy, had no manners, had never seen furniture, and was not house broken lol.  She was my girlheartShe was my shadow. She drove me CRAZY but she learned manners, socialized, learned how to walk around the table (not ON it) and eventually she stopped eating my remote controls. She was 99.9% housebroken, and she fell in love with the man that I met and would marry and move to Kentucky to be with. She learned tricks, would speak, roll over, and when we bought a house she learned what a pool was. She LOVED to swim!

She got sick suddenly, too early in life. Some f&^%ed up auto immune disease. Her head started to look like it was concave on one side. We tried to treat her but within just a few weeks the pain was so bad that I could not bear to watch her. It just kept getting worse. I doubled her pain meds, tripled them, but she still cried. We held her paw while she crossed over. I am crying as I type this. The pain does not ever go away. It has been five years. We have however found other homeless babies that needed so badly to be loved that our hearts opened to them and we love them dearly. They do not take her place. NOBODY will ever take my Rosie's place, but your heart finds a place for it and you go on. You DO learn to laugh again, you DO learn to love again, and you always cry whenever you think about how much you miss them. Would I do it again? Yes! The only way that you could ever hurt so much is if somebody showed you to love like you have never been loved before. I have had lots of pets between veterinary work and animal shelter work. A handful of them touched me deeply and I am grateful for the love I received and was able to give.

Give yourself a break. Give yourself time. Grieving is a process, you cannot rush it. You will be ok, and you will cherish your memories forever. (((Hugs from Huckleberry, Rosie, Jackie and David)))

Hugs,

Jackie, Bo, Andy, Oscar, Phoebe, and the coolest feral tripawd kitty Huckleberry

Thanks everyone.

It will get better. Getting through this stage is just proving more difficult than I thought it would be. In a way, that's a good thing though.

I'm feeling better tonight.

Before I went on my walk, I asked Rocky to leave me a penny. I had a strange feeling I'd find one at the far end of our street. Sure enough, just before I got to the end of the street, there was a penny on the curb. smiley

Awww Jackie, thanks for sharing Rosie's story.  She sounds like a remarkable Soul who clearly found her Earth Angel through you.heart

So here's one for you David.  Tonight at work I mentioned something about Myrtle...except I called her Hannah.  I almost NEVER, EVER  call her Hannah. Probably three times in four hears.    So I stopped mid sentence and said "Hello Happy Hannah" Made me smile.   Got home tonight, got out of the car.  Moon was shining really, really brightly.  And there in my driveway was a penny that was absolutely shimmeringi under the light of the Moon!  And Happy Hannah RARELY sends me pennies!!

Pretty sure Rocky whispered in her ear and told her I needed to hear from her tonigh!  Rocky must have a vault of pennies at the Bridge that he "loans" out to ithe occupants when they need to connect with a penny! 🙂

And here yiu are feeling strongly Rocky woukd send you a penny tonight.  Sure enough, he came through yet sgain and you found it where you asked him to leave it!!   Proof positive your energies are definitely connecting!

So a penny once a week.  Pretty darn good way Rocky is letting you know hesw still around! :-

A penny richer in LOVE!  well said Petra

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Good girl, Hannah. It's always nice to find those pennies.

Here's another one for y'all:

I mowed the yard over the weekend for the first time since Rocky crossed. I'd always mow the front yard first, come inside to take a quick break and then say "I'm going to mow Rocky's yard now!" to Rocky before heading to the back. He'd always sit next to the sliding glass door and just grin ear-to-ear while I mowed his yard, as though to say "look at Daddy getting my yard ready to play ball!" I'd come back in through the garage and he'd be standing there with his ball, all excited to go out and play in the freshly cut yard. While I was mowing the back this weekend, I kept looking over at the door hoping to see him smiling at me.

But ... before I started mowing, I found some poopicon_png that looked pretty fresh near the patio. It only looked a day or two old, and I know I've walked through that spot since he crossed and didn't see anything. I had a new roof put on my house the week after he crossed and the roofers left the back gate open. So it's possible a dog got loose, found my yard and left me a gift. OR, maybe Rocky decided to have some fun. Very strange.

Stranger things have happened David!😜 nothing like a pile of 💩 to pit a smile on one face! 😝 What Rocky says to that is... “It worked didn’t it Dad?!” 😁

Sweet Dreams!☀️🌈 🐕❤️😴

Thanks!

Initially, I was just going to hang the one photo. But then I came across the sign over the weekend and decided to add a couple more photos. I’m happy with it.

My parents went out of town this weekend, so I'm dog sitting for them. Went over after work to feed them. As I was getting their food ready, it hit me that I hadn't fed a dog since Rocky's last meal nearly seven weeks ago.

When I picked the dishes up to put them down for my parents' dogs, I found a penny on the kitchen counter. Well done, Rocky. Well done. clap

It's such a blessing to get a sign.  Rocky is still making sure you know he's watching over you and sending you his love💓.
