Hey everyone,

I adopted a tripod 9 month old Australian Cattle Dog mix named Destiny from a local rescue a couple of weeks ago. I decided to sign up for this sight because it has helped me so much preparing for bring her home.

She was found by my EMT friend on a local reserve with a old, infected leg wound (left front leg). It looks like she was caught in a snare, got herself out and the people on this reserve left it to get infected. :/ I fell in love with her photo the first time I saw it and I ended up being able to adopt her!

So far she has been fantastic. I have been more than happy we got her. I was wondering what everyone uses for join care/omega 3 supplements?

Also do any of you do special pad care for your dog's pads? I have been reading mixed things about pad cream (she doesn't have a problem but she is an active dog.

Thanks, I look forward to being a part of this community.

Hey Destiny! What a beautiful face you have - so kind and gentle. Hard to believe anyone would let you suffer. How lucky you are that a special person has become your mom!

Shooter gets Cosequin DS everyday. Three months in he is moving around great and is a senior dog.

Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.

Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.

Oh for CUTE! What a gorgeous girl. :-)

We use Wild Alaskan Salmon Oil (when he'll eat it), whatever gluco/chond supplement he'll take (varies...Zukes, Blue, some pill-like brand form the farm supply store) when he'll take it, and feed Taste of the Wild.

We don't do any pad maintenance, other than now keep his feet fuzzies trimmed on the hardwoods.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes.

My location is Canada, province of Saskatchewan.

@destiny, hahah what are the odds?! The rescue we got her from gave her this name and we decided not to change it. My family hates it but oh well.

Thanks for all the suggestions too. I hope to start a blog up soon to keep up to date with her goings on.
