Hello from stormy wet Cornwall UK. I am hoping to foster a unique girl under the umbrella of a special UK rescue called Many Tears. Hanna is a Gascon Saintengeois a breed I had never heard of. An angel called Sue manages to raise money to bring a few rescue dogs to the UK from Cyprus. She posted the photo of an emaciated bitch with a crooked leg that touched our hearts. The wonderful people who struggle to rescue dogs in Limassol, Cyprus rescued her from a cage and starvation and raised funds to amputate her badly damaged leg and treat infections. Our rescue forum sprang into action and we are raising £400 to fly her here. The guys in Cyprus know that she is special and are offering to fundraise any shortfall. The Greek economy is in a truly awful state and their pledge is incredible. Our charity has been struck by hurricane force winds and today took in 40 ex-breeders from the notorious Welsh puppy farms. Hanna is going to be a blessing and I am embarking on my training to be ready to take her on her next step by joining this forum.

Hi Chris & Hanna, welcome! I hope you don't mind but I moved your post here to this discussion forum, it's a great place to discuss Tripawds who lost a leg to factors other than cancer.

Hannah is one lucky doggie! I've never heard of the Gascon Saintengois breed either. Do you have any photos you can share? Here's a post that tells you how to add images to your post.

I'm sorry your weather has been so rough, you guys must be going batty with all of that rain. Be safe! Let us know how we can help with your very special pup!!! Thanks for joining us, your future posts wont' need approval.

What a great story you and Hanna have. I did a search for the breed and found some pictures along with the description. They are apparently a scent hound, and we do have several of those here. They do have a unique look to them. Quite a regal looking dog.

It's also great to see another entry into the Beyond Cancer ranks. Please keep us up to date on how things are going.

Kathi and Murphy

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

At present she is still in Limassol. I have managed to get the little snip onto YouTube. Will read instructions and post properly.
