I would recommend this hospital to anyone! They have been so sweet to Emily, my five year old doberrman mix. The doctors and the vet students have the wonderful gift of making us feel like Emily is their only concern. Her student has even called us at home to check on her! If you are facing an osteosarcoma and trying to decide your best option call and make an appointment for a consultation. We decided on amputation and chemo for Emily and because it is a teaching hospital she will also be in a drug study that we hope will help her and future tripawds
Debra & Emily, a five year old doberman mix, who was diagnosed with an osteosaecoma. She had a right rear leg amputation on May 19, 2009. On November 10, 2009 she earned her wings and regained her fourth leg.

I found Ohio State U. Vet Teaching Hospital when I was searching online for info about greyhounds and chemo. They see a lot of retired greyhounds at this hospital and also offer free chemo to any retired, rescued grey. I asked my sister-in-law, who is a vet in NYC (and a former professor at Ft. Collins Vet School) to call them regarding the best chemo treatments for our Brody, and low and behold, she readily agreed to do it because she knows Dr. Guillermo Couto, who is head of the dept. If you are a grey owner, I will pass on any info that they have about the best treatments. Pat (& Brody)
