Since I own dachshunds I had already heard about PVSEC since they do the surgery for IVDD and heard they were great from another doxie owner. We ended up in the ER there because of another vets mistake and I couldn't be happier with our choice. First impression was great. Very clean, I almost felt like we were in a human hospital. They had us signed in and seen by a tech within 15 minutes. The vet on call came out to speak with us very fast and explained very well everything she saw and was thinking. She recommended for the dermatologist and surgeon to make sure they were with her on the diagnosis. She answered all of our questions, didn't seemed rushed and explained it could be a couple of hours until Reign was seen by those doctors. She only brought up cost once she was done answering our questions. The surgeon ( Dr Anderson) contacted us within 2 hours and explained everything including that they would need to take her leg. I think we was on the phone with us for at least 30 minutes reassuring us and told us to call back anytime and he would answer any questions we had. Due to scheduling conflicts he was not the 1 that ended up doing her surgery but Dr Campbell is the other surgeon and made sure to go over everything with us again. Reign is not the typical case so they have use extreme caution with her and talk with us to explain everything before they do it. Dr Campbell gives daily calls in the morning and her tech calls early evening, they also gave us directions on how to call after hours so we could check in whenever we want. The girls that work at night are awesome and don't mind the 1,000 questions I have. Reign isn't home yet because of an abscess and since her stay has been long they are keeping the cost as low as they can while giving her the care she needs. They seem to do whatever needed to help including hand feeding my girl.

The have so many different departments including cardiology, ophthalmology and neurology. I have not had a need for any other department other than ER and surgery but everyone I have talked with is very caring and helpful
