ALRIGHTY, it's pawty time!!!!
Elizabeth and Jake, Deb and Lexie and Happy Hannah and I have been "talking" and we think NOW is a great time to start planning our VIRGINIA AND BEYOND TRIPAWD AND QUADPAWD PAATY!!! Best Kitty and Dog Pawty and Spirit pawty ever!!!
We had a great location last year at a park with a shelter AND a dog park. We want to make this as accessible as possible...especially since Lori and Bonnie pretty much have said they would be coming...right girls?? So we can fo to the same place or, go further up Northern Va.
Michelle and Alison can rent a van and start diving now! Rene and Jim can start heading this way too!!
So much has happened since last year. Hppy Hannah and Jake headed onn2up to the Bridge before the pawty...Lexie decided there was no way she was fonna miss the pawty and celebratednher 14th birthday that day!!! Nixon, Ingrid, Cookie, Alana, Cheryl and Zack and TJ's Greyhound Club, hoping all can be there too!
But the Bridge Brigade made sure we had Tanner and Merry Myrtle there to represent them! And now we have so many new quadpawd and tripawd additions to pawty with!!
SOOOOOOOOO......who would be interested in a Virginia/Virginia area pawty....maybe around May??
And don't forget to make ribbons for the Tribute Leash!!
One of the computer geeks can post some pics and videos from the pawty....it really is a bonding event like no other!
Love from the Richmond Tripawds Club.....Deb, Elizabeth and Sally
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Hmmm....
Well we are actually kinda sorta heading that way in May. I know it's a long time from now and who's to say that there can't be another gathering before then. But I just wanted to mention that we will be in Nashville at the end of May. Is that really far from VA? Haha, geography dummy here!

I was actually planning on taking some time off in May as well And a 6 hour drive wouldn't be too bad lol. I could just make a fun weekend of it! So I might be interested for sure!
Cassie and Domino
“A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.”
Domino had his left front leg amputate on May 13th 2014 after being hit by a car. He's now living a happy healthy life on three legs :)
I can do any weekend but Mother's Day weekend. Any ideas when? A bit North would be wonderful. I really, really want to come this year. The 16 th is my Granddaughter's 1st Birthday. I know, I know, I am a pain in the a$&. The Hubby may even come. He asked about it the other day. Since Daryl is " his dog" He wants to bring him. If he comes, I may bring Chan and Lucy too.
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
HOORAY!!!!!!! We had such a fantastic time last year, I can't wait! May works for us. Rene, Nashville is about 9 hrs from Richmond, that's not too too far :))

A little off topic here, but thanks, Sally.
I am doing OK. We lost another dog (Spunky the 9 year old lab x dal with kidney disease) just before Christmas. Our older dal has been battling pancreatitis (doing OK on home made diet) & our little 14 yr old cocker has now been diagnosed with a different form of kidney disease, but we did decide to keep the foster dal. She has some issues, and the training has been a nice way to focus on something other than the lost babies. She can be a real PITA but for the most part it has been nice having a young dog in the house again. The oldies don't really play any more. Regan more than makes up for that with the extra batteries that she seems to have in her motor!
I check in here now & again but haven't posted much. I went through a little phase where people's success stories made me angry and sad (& I felt gulity about feeling that way, but I was upset that I couldn't have more time with my dog) & I couldn't get on here without crying (still can't).
I would love to get together with some of the people who offered me support when my Millie was having such a hard time!

It is very hard to get on here and not cry. For as much success as we celebrate, we mourn a lot too. Don't forget, feeling guilt for many reasons is also a normal part of grief. The thief known as Cancer is so random and you have no idea if anything you did or didn't do actually helped! If Ellen, Charlie's mom told us that she rubs mashed bananas into her and her husband's navel every other day as a treatment for Charlie, I'm sure at least half of us would try it! For those whose dogs live longer than expected, I'm sure more than one experiences feelings of guilt about why their dog is beating the odds. Human emotions are complicated and unreasonable. This is why learning to Be More Dog is good for us.
Our pack is game for a Tripawds meeting. Richmond isn't far for us to travel although I think I'd drive up the day before and maybe spend the night before coming home if that's where we meet.
Now I'm tossing this out as an idea. Over Memorial Day weekend, there is a greyhound event in Gatlinburg, TN. I'm checking to see if non-sighthounds are welcome. It is 3.5 hours from Nashville but 6.5 to 7 hours from Richmond. The benefits of crashing an organized dog event is that it is already organized. Several meals are already catered. It is dog friendly. Greyhound owners are all too familiar with osteosarcoma and tripawds.
INGRID ANDM NIXON! First of all, very thoughtful response to Sevydot...so true. We all cry on here almost every day...and we hurt so badly for every single lpss. The ones who had so little time just take us to m our knees. And although we all are SINCERELY jubilant and deliriously happy for every dog and cat who beats the odds, it is absolutely normal to wish it could have been "us"......because it's NEVER enough time anyway. Thank you sevydots for having the courage to share your emotions...and for staying here when you can. The grief you have experienced this year is more than most of us could handle...much less stay on a site that has us feel the pain of other's aa though it were our own...and it is.
Mashed bananas ...in the belly button? Interesting tjerapy
WOW! Crashing a Greyhound Event Sounds intriguing!!!! And Wyatt would be able to make that one!! Maybe a little too much travel for our "Northern" friends though. Hey, maybe we're looking at two pawties!!!!!!
Thanks Ingrid and Nixon!!! LOVE AND HUGS!!!!!!
