I've been running into (on the blogs) several other Chicagoland tripawds lately. I was thinking maybe we could plan a tripawd pawty for the spring (you know, once it's not freezing out). Let yourself be known here! And let me know if you're interested. Currently Max goes to monthly Shiba Inu meetups, so I could see if we could go to some of those places for the pawty.

Count us in! We're in the western suburbs, and would happily travel to get to a tripawds party in the Chicagoland area!
Thanks for organizing us!
Holly and Holly's mom
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Meg - that sounds pawsome!! Let us know what you find out.
And Ginny - congrats on Addy! She looks beautiful. We hope you'll bring her to the tripawd party!
Timber is in Palos (or thereabouts), but hasn't posted in a long while. I'm hoping Timber's ok...

Gerry needs to practice his car rides, for a family vacation I really hope I can take him on this summer (all the way to VA Beach - ack!), thus we would LOVE to make a trip to the Chicago area for a tripawd pawty. Keep us in the loop!
FYI midwesterners (and everybody else too), Gerry is trying to organize tripawd pawties in the Madison area as well. Input is welcome at: http://gerry.tr...../#comments
Gerry has been a tripawd since 12/16/2009.
He was a shelter dog with a mysterious past and an irrepairable knee injury.

I was wondering about Timber, too. I often think of him, as he had the same surgeon as Harley. I hope he's okay.
Amputation on 11/10/09, due to Histiocytic Sarcoma in left elbow. Angel Harley earned his wings on 06/24/10.
Gerry, do you have a date yet for the Madison meetup? I'm trying to pick a date for ours, but I don't want to pick the same date!
Also, anyone who might be coming, is there a date in April or May that you cannot come? I'll do my best to accomodate everyone. It looks like the place we'll be meeting is in the Buffalo Grove, IL area, which is more convenient for our Wisconsin folks--at least it's on the north side! It's a good hour and 15 minutes from me, but the folks are really nice there. I believe there is outdoor space, but if the weather is bad there is indoor space, too (it's a doggie daycare).

No one interested in the Madison pawty has expressed date preferences yet, so we're flexible. I definitely hope to have a Tripawd Pawty Memorial Day weekend, but wouldn't really care whether that would be in Madison or Buffalo Grove - whatever gets the best turn out 🙂
Gerry and I would have a tricky time coming before April 25th - but we'd sure try! I have volunteering at the Humane Society on Saturdays and he has training classes on Sundays through the 25th of April. Saturdays would be the most doable til then, since I could probably make up the volunteer hours on a Friday or Sunday. Saturday, April 3rd I might still be in Milwaukee, at least in the morning, following my nephew's 1st birthday. (How did I get so busy? This is not like me at all).
Oh boy, I'm getting excited already. Thanks for working on organizing this Meg!

It's looking like the beginning of May might work best. My fellow Shiba tripawd will be out of town a few times in April and we have the Shiba meetup another weekend. So now I"m thinking maybe the first or second Saturday in May. That would give us plenty of time to advertise in the area, too. Send flyers to the vets and daycares and pet stores. If anyone has a conflict with those days, let me know.

Hey all, I posted this in the Madison pawty thread already, but just wanted to make sure midwesterners who might be interested don't misse the news -
I finally settled on May 30th, but with a bad weather date of June 5th. It was pretty evenly split, with a couple people not being able to make either, so I will also be looking to plan another one in very late June or early July. Feel free to send me input on good dates and bad dates for that one. And for those who can make it to either the 30th or 5th (since the 5th could still happen), please let me know what time of day you can be there, since some of you will have some traveling to do!
We'll show Madison that "Tripawds have more fun!"

I should be able to make it up on May 30th! I'll try my best. I think late morning/early afternoon would be best for us so we have time to get up there and back home again. Thanks for planning this!

We would love to come to a tripawd pawrty but can't make it on May 30th due to a wedding. If the weather is bad and it gets moved to June 5th, we may be able to make it then. We live in Pontiac, IL so Buffalo Grove would be about a 2 hour drive. Our oncologist is 1.5 hours so an extra 30 minutes to drive for a fun reason would be no big deal
