Sorry I missed this earlier but welcome to the Chicago Chapter! You are very lucky because the lovely Isabelle is a chapter member and her mom (Cynthia) is a vet tech extraordinaire and knows everything about everything, especially holistic treatment. Of course, you can always get all your questions answered here on this site as well...I realize now I responded to one of your posts but I didn't know you were local.
Montrose Beach works well for us, it's a great place for dogs (especially dogs that love water...like Tate) but we'd consider elsewhere if you have any suggestions.

We have some very sad news and that is that fellow chapter member Chili Dawg is not doing well. I guess there's not much to say say except it's part of the journey...but this is the hard part. We are so sad for them.
Well, on a happier note, maybe we'll get together again soon and I hope Chili Dawg's monkeybutt brother Finchy will consider coming because he's still part of the Tripawds family. We look forward to meeting Cadence, a.k.a. TriFOD, and pawrents!

Are we doing a get together at Montrose Beach in September still?
Cadence Faye: Born 10/30/04, stepped into our hearts 12/23/2004. Rear leg tumor found 7/24/11 by mom and dad, Xray on 7/25/11, Osteosarcoma suspected 7/26/11, amputation 7/29/11, Carboplatin started 8/23. Met free so far!

Finchy would love to come- he has a soft spot for tripawds. He is very lonely without the Chili Dawg right now. So if you are meeting, we would like to try to come.

Chili Dawg crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 8/30/2011 & is now pain free. He was my heart dog, and I miss him every day.

Ugghhh.....I'm out of town again so Duncan (Tripawd St. Bernard) and I (from Chicago suburb North Riverside) won't be there. Keep him in your thoughts. He's really slowed down in the last few weeks. September 28th will be his 14-month ampuversary. He's still cancer-free but it seems like his back legs are now causing him some pain. He's had x-rays and a neurologist has examined him. Blood tests are also negative. Hopefully he'll perk up when I get home. I hope you guys have a great time at dog beach.
Okay, so I overstated the weather forecast for our September edition. As you can see below, it was not ideal weather for humans. So I'll just say that the weather for the OCTOBER EDITION of the Chicago Area Tripawds Meet at the Beach will probably be nicer than it was in May, July, August or September. After all, this is Chicago.

Okay if those rambunctious "Dec 1st in Las Vegas" people would quite posting for like, maybe two minutes, maybe SOMEONE would get a chance to see OUR post. So Chicago may not be the glamour fun spot of the nation but hey! we do pretty good with what we got here.
And we got WATER! BIG water! Can't even see the other side!
AND we got PEEPS! FUN peeps!
And that means TREATS! YUMMY treats!
So EVERYONE is invited! (Although to tell the truth, Las Vegas in December DOES sound a lot more fun than November in Chicago!)
