Hi Cisco's mom! I recently learned how to upload video. I created a YouTube channel for Griffin's Journey (I set it to unlisted so only people with links can view, but you can make it public) and uploaded the videos there. Then you simply copy the link that appears when you click on the share button of the video you uploaded and paste it into the body of your post on Tripawds. It won't show up as a video until you publish your post. I hope this is helpful, and yay to Cisco for being 2 weeks post-op! I can't wait to see her video! ~ Stacy
Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com
Oh yaaaay! I'm so thrilled things are going well! I've been away all day, it was so nice to come back and see this. I hope you guys have a restful night and a mellow morning tomorrow. Keep us posted!

48 Hours post op!! Vet had me take off her Fentynal patch this morning and she adjusted her meds a bit.
Right now she is taking 2- 50mg tablets of Tramadol twice a day and her dose of Metacam once in the am. My Vet gave me another pill for her only to use if she shows signs of discomfort or pain. So far she is showing nothing but smiles and happiness.
She is my dog 100% except she hops now instead of limping. And I swear when she looks at me with her big brown eyes she's saying thank you for getting rid of that pain. She could care less she's a tripaw now, she's happy.
Would I do it again HELL YES do not second guess yourselves it hard but only on us humans. Ziva still loves me she's pain free and I hope with proper care and treatment she will be the odds breaker and be with me for a long long time.
I'll update some pics and videos soon. Thank you all for the support and prayers and kind thoughts. Stay tuned for the adventures of
SUPER ZIVA THE ROTTWIELER!!
Steve - It sounds like you are very attuned to Ziva's needs and she is getting exactly what she needs right now! I read your post on Aspen's page and agree with what you wrote about Ziva's meds being light as compared to the average prescribed meds post-op BUT that every dog's needs are different. My heart melted when I read your comment about Ziva thanking you for removing her source of pain. She is so lucky to have you, and I know you feel blessed to have her in your life. May each day find Ziva continuing to making progress with you right by her side! I can't wait for the photos and videos! ~ Stacy

Awwww I am smiling so big here! You are right, it's hardest for the humans. Dogs know how to adapt and yes, I totally believe she is grateful that you helped her get rid of that terrible pain.
She does seem to be on a light pain medication routine right now, at least without the Fentanyl, so I hope her pain-free days continue. Keep an eye on her and if you have any doubt that she isn't feeling good (less sparkly, ears down, tail down, reluctant to move around), let your vet know OK?
You are doing great! I hope you have a restful weekend.

Hey Steve! I've reloaded your links a few times and I'm directed to "check back soon...Steve is uploading a shared video" (or photo). I'm not sure if they are just taking a long time to load or if there is an issue. As you can tell, I'm eager to see how Ziva is doing! ~ Stcy

The other dogs are a min pin, and two German pinchers we've recently rescued. They smelled Ziva when we got home and almost knew exactly what was going on. Since then they act like she has all four legs. Ziva was trying to run and play in the back yard with them today but fortunately I had her lead on so no more than three feet from me all day.
One link is the picture I fixed and the video seems to not wanna work today. I'll try another method for the video and see if it will work.
Update day three:
Ziva is doing great, she's eating, sleeping, and potty breaking like nothing happened. She's doing the three steps off the back porch like nothing. (I do hold her harness while she does it however) She jumps up on the couch just as she did before.
I think shes still is a bit unstable on the grass out back due to the softness and unevenness. She tends to gravitate towards the sidewalk and more firm ground. I think that will just take a little getting used to.
My Vet and I tweaked her meds just a bit so she now take one 50mg tablet of Tramadol three times daily, and her dose of Metacam once in the am. So far this seems to give her a constant "high" without the spike of the initial dose as before. Looks to keep her a lot more mellow all the time which is helping keep her from over doing it.
Having a few issues loading videos but I'll keep trying. More to follow!
Steve - It's so great to hear that Ziva is recovering well and you have her meds managed to give her the support she needs! Griffin is an only pup in our house, but when meeting dogs at the park, it is interesting to see how they sniff his incision area and then move on. His buddy, a miniature goldendoodle, doesn't care how many legs Griffin has - he will still try to steal his ball during games of fetch! I'm looking forward to seeing the beautiful Ziva in videos soon! ~ Stacy
