Thanks guys, the drop off didn't go well as I could tell that Dr. Allen was preparing me for the worse.
They are going to do the X-rays first and see what showing. If that goes well then blood work, and last would be the tooth extraction. Given the way things went this am I'm preparing myself for the worse case scenario. I'm still praying for the best. Should know in a couple hours.
Tons of Pawsitivity coming at ya! Any news?
You are doing such a great job paying close attention to her behavior. I'm hoping that what you are seeing is something easy to treat, with lots of massage, snuggles and cheeseburgers too!

Thanks for the story. I am glad your dog is doing well. My dog, Sadie, a 7.5 yearly Rotweiller is getting amputated tomorrow. She was diagnosed about a month ago but started limping about 3 months ago
Hi Tony and Sadie, welcome. It must be Rottie day, Conan's people joined us today too.
Sorry you are in this situation. We would love to help you better so please start a new Treatment and Recovery topic for Sadie OK? We will look for you there!

So we've got news and bad news.
Dr. Allen did X-rays and that is where the treatment today stopped. She found some nodules in her lungs, blood work was good, soooo we've decide to wait till tomorrow after the X-ray specialist look at the films to either confirm or denie what she saw in Zivas lungs. Her breathing sounds clear so right now unsure of what's up.
Gooder news is her tooth is not as bad as we thought so no pain there so it can wait a bit till we figure out the rest. Ziva came home and I'll be BBQing some burgers for us and her. It sounds like we might be down to " it just a matter of time" situation so spoiling the crap out of my girl,is in order.
Ziva is smiling, eating, drinking, and going potty as usual so I'm hopefully optimistic at this point.
Thank you all for your good thoughts, prayers and fingers crossed. We will see what the next few days bring.
Well darn it, I'm sorry you got that news about possible mets. I'm keeping my paws crossed for a "oh we made a big mistake that's just dust on the lens!" We really need some goodest news around here!
Glad to hear she is being Ziva and doing all the things she loves. Stay pawsitive and we will too

FWIW, my Frankie had an xray on a Friday of one of his remaining legs and the Bet was sure it was osteo. Ahe sent it over to an Ortho Radiologist who would not be in until Monday. A stressful week end to say the least. On Monday the refular Vet called to say she was happily WRONG!!! Point being, we'll keep send pawsitive energy and hoping for a good report.
Even IF...IF....Ziva has mets, you've been on here long enough to hotdogs can still have great extended quality time. Just ask Jerry!!!
Regardless of the outcome, continue to give Ziva burgers! She clearly deserves them!

Got the phone call from Dr. Allen this am. Looks like Ziva has mets, lots of them but they are small. So I suppose we are down o quality of life for my baby girl.
Dr. Allen said that Ziva will let us know what needs to be done. I've been through the this before with my other dogs. In the meantime we will spoil the crap out her. I just need to watch her weight. She's 84lbs now and I don't want to add more just because of her legs. She had TPLO surgery two years ago and that rear leg seems to be bothering her just a bit.
So keep your pawsitive thought for Ziva and we will keep you posted and thank you all for your support.
Dang it Steve, I'm really sorry. Mets suck. I hope she gets loads more time with you and the mets behave. You are doing a great job with her care, and watching her weight. Spoil her rotten (with low cal treats 😉 and make the most of each day you have.
Remember, Ziva doesn't know what the radiographs said and even if she did, it wouldn't change the essence of who she is. She's a great teacher about living in the Now, something we humans needs lots of practice doing. I know you've got this!

Well crap, Steve - I know that was not the news you, and the rest of us, were hoping to hear. Each dog is different, but Ziva is doing so well that there is every reason to hope that she will continue to do so for quite some time. Griffin's lung mets were discovered in July only 3 months after his surgery, and he lived a great life for 7 months more. You are giving Ziva every advantage to continue fighting and I'm rooting so very hard for her. Please give her lots of scritches and hugs from me!
Griffin lived an amazing life for 11 years! Diagnosed with osteosarcoma on March 17, 2020, Griffin's right forelimb was amputated on April 2, 2020. Ten days later he was running and playing fetch! Lung metastasis discovered in July 2020 did not slow down Griffin and he lived joyfully for the next 7 months, passing peacefully at home on February 11, 2021. https://griffin.tripawds.com
Yep, Ziva could care less what xrays say. Ziva is being Ziva and that's all she cares about.....that and getting spoiled and doing all her favorite things!! No, it's not what any hoomans want to hear, but it is soooo important to remember that nothing has changed I. ZIva's world.
As Griffin, Jerry and so many others have shown, a tripawd can continue to thrive for great extended quaility time and in a way that is joyous and Happy with no worries about the tomorrows, just focused on the present. Ziva is such a great teacher♥️
We absolutely are sending pawsitive power to sweet Ziva, absolutely!!! We know Ziva and you are fighters, strong and determined! And that type of attitude is the best therapy any dog could ever have....and it does cost a dime and doesn't require Vet visits.
A scoop of low cal organic ice cream is theraputic too😉..... and we want pictures!👍
