Penny Lane continues to heal from her recent amputation.  The staples are out and she it getting a lot better going up and down stairs.  She even took a short walk around the block.  We started chemotherapy last week and will have a CBC checked on Wednesday to make sure she tolerates it and doesn't experience significant cytopenias.  She doesn't seem to be experiencing any ill effects from the chemo yet but we are using Cerenia and denamarin .  We decided to alternate between oral CCNU and IV doxorubicin based on a study that suggested this protocol as an alternative to single-agent therapy for histiocytic sarcoma.  We are living in the now and making the best of our time together and just hoping the chemo gives us even just a little bit more time.

Your chariot is quite spec too!  I love that you have a little open air "porch"  so you can take in all the sights and sounds unencumbered.   It seems that your Chauffeur  is doing a good job.  You trained him well😎

Thank you! This is the Pet Gear Expedition stroller. Penny Lane seems to like it and there are several configurations and it’s pretty portable. We like to take long walks so this way she can hop along until she gets tired and then finish the walk in the stroller. It took a little getting used to but it was a good purchase for us!

Rock that chariot beautiful girl! Sort of like a cross between a good walk and a car ride!

Thank you for sharing Penny's beautiful picture!

My sweet soulmate Roane was diagnosed with osteo in June of 2019. Had a rear leg amp on July 2nd & crossed the rainbow bridge to be with her sister Gypsy on the first day of Autumn Sept 23 2019.

Penny Lane went to the vet today to get her CBC checked.  Her neutrophil count is pretty low and her hemoglobin is down as well.  We will be starting prophylactic antibiotics and praying she doesn't spike a fever and need to be hospitalized.  So far she's still eating great and acting as sweet as can be.  She seems to be resting a little more than usual but definitely not in the realm of lethargic.  We are hoping things improve when her counts recover.  Her oncologist said they will make some dose adjustments to her next round of chemo.

Aww what a bummer but it's not uncommon at all to have this happen. Try not to panic. It sounds like she's holding her own and it's great that her appetite and attitude is good! She's a spunky, strong girl, and she'll be ready for the next round in no time at all.

Yeah, that happens, so nothing to worry about.  The antibiotic and space inbetween rhe next dose should take care of it.  That said, sometimes  it can take a bit longer.  Your Onco seems to have things under control  by maybe reducing  the amount, or even spacing out the treatments a bit longer inbetween.

Sounds like Penny Lane is doing okay and certainly  isn't  worried about a thing.  The bliss of dog, right?
