Hello everyone!

I just wanted to let everyone know that Vaughn is doing great !  Its been 6 months since his front leg amputation.   His last chemo was about a month ago.  He goes next month for check up.

I have been taking him once a week to Canine rehab center where he does the water treadmill.   He seems to like it because he wags his tail when we walk in.  I am not sure how much good it does by only going once a week.  Wish I could afford to do it twice a week but doing my best for now.

He also gets acupuncture every other week.   He still gets gabapentin and Rimadly and some other holisitic supplements to hopefully keep the cancer from coming back.  We also do Ozone treatment once a week.

He loves his walks and loves running in the yard.  I give him lots of massages especially his remaining front leg and surrounding muscles.   I feel so bad when we walk and how much pounding that poor leg has to endure but he would walk forever if I let him.  He never wants to turn around and come home!  Our weather is cool now in Florida so I am letting him enjoy the walks for now!

A friend just sent me a link to 3D prosthesis.  I have been reading on the forum here about prosthesis and I am going to ask the therapist this week when we see her.   I just don't know if he really needs it or not.

I am sorry I have not been around to support newcomers but I will try!!

I wish I could post a video of Vaughn but not sure how to do it.  I have tried LOL.

Thank you everyone for being here!

So glad to hear Vaughn is doing well! I know he and Summer are on almost the same timeline. It’s been 5 months since Summer’s surgery. I’ve been looking for updates from you, so I’m very happy to see this.  These greyhounds just love their walks, don’t they? Summer would walk forever if I let her, but then she doesn’t like the part about turning around to go back home. 😂

Sounds like Vaughn has it all under control. Great job, mama! It hasn’t been an easy road, I know. Keep posting. Always good to see another greyhound’s progress. They’re such wonderful athletes. ❤️

Pam it's so great to know that Vaughn is doing great! Thank you for taking time to update with this great news! sp_hearticon2smiley_clap

He is getting fantastic care! Everything adds up so don't beat yourself up if you think you aren't doing enough. Even a once a week therapy visit is helpful, and having a therapist on your team is what we hope every Tripawd can have. Vaughn is in a great place physically and emotionally right now. Enjoy it! And never ever feel bad for not being here more. Make the most of every day with your guy, that's what we all want for you.

As for the prosthetic, I'm happy to know you are going to ask the therapist. Please don't buy anything yet. Not only are the costly and not returnable, the fact is that not every Tripawd needs one. It is SUPER SMART to wait to buy one until you have that convo with his therapist. We have a very interesting conversation about prosthetic devices with a rehab therapist, coming up on tripawd talk in a couple of weeks.

If you want to share a video here the best way is to upload it to a YouTube channel, then come back here and paste the video URL. If you don't want to start a channel feel free to email me the video and I'll put it on our Tripawds channel for you.

Give your pawesome Tripawd warrior a big ol smooch for us!
