Oh no. I am just so very, very sorry to hear this about Saffy. What a precious baby. Yes, for sure like Charon said, Doggie Heaven is going to get a perfect angel.
My heart goes out to you.

She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Poor sweet Saffy! We are never truly ready to let them go, no matter what age. The decision to let them go is so hard and gut wrenching, but to know they are suffering is even worse. Please let us know how you are doing when you are ready.
My heart goes out to you all.

Diagnosed with possible synovial cell sarcoma of right front elbow 5/31/12. Amputation surgery performed 6/7/12. Final diagnosis of histiocytic cell sarcoma 6/11/12. Her soul and spirit were strong, her body was not...my little girl earned her wings 6/14/12. I want to add my condolences to the decision you've come to. Letting Saffy go seems right, if she's in that much pain. Medication can help with pain when there's recovery ahead, but this sounds serious and terrible for her.
As Lisa said, we did have an issue with our dog Evelyn, and her entire vulva area was incredibly swollen and bright red. It was somewhat lopsided in the swelling, but it was quite enlarged. That doesn't sound like what Saffy was experiencing, though. Evelyn didn't appear to be in dramatic pain, and Saffy surely sounds like she has been.
Again, I'm so very sorry. Thank you for loving her enough to let her go.

From abandoned puppy to Tripawd Warrior Dude, Dakota became one of the 2011 February Furballs due to STS. Our incredibly sweet friend lived with grace and dignity till he impulsively raced over the Bridge on 12-15-12.

Thank you all for your support! We have gotten used to life without our lovely puppy, but surely do miss her! As a follow-up, the vet found that the cancer had spread to her lower spine -- at the base of the tail, which was causing her to be unable to move her tail and have some weird pelvic problems. Her lymph nodes on one side were also getting larger by the day, so I assume the cancer had spread there.
Anyway, while I regret spending the money on chemo and amputation that gave her only a few short months... I also know that we had to give it a try in the hopes that it might have given her more time. Alas... cancer just sucks.
We'll probably get another puppy at some point and as wonderful as you all are, I pray I never have to come back here!
Farewell!!!
