I love seeing Marshall on video. What a sweetie.
I'm so sorry. I know this is a rough spot to be in. As others have said, you have to ask yourself, what does Marshall want?
One of the reasons we didn't like using Pred for Jerry was it made him really hungry...which wasn't his usual personality. As a picky eater, we had gotten him used to eating like a bird. When we saw how much the pred changed this aspect of his personality, it made us sad because that just wasn't him. We wanted him to eat, but we had to ask ourselves, were we continuing with the meds for him or for us? At that point, we made a decision to stop the medications so that he could live out his remaining time as himself, not as one big side effect. It was very freeing, getting rid of the medications, and it allowed us to spend our last few weeks together knowing that he was experiencing life as he always knew it and enjoyed it. We managed his pain as best we could but when we could no longer do that without giving him side effects, for us, that's when we knew it was time.
Everyone, every situation, every day is different and only you know what's best at this point. Asking yourself the quality of life questions can help tremendously.

I want your opinion. Seeing these videos and seeing how marshall used to be in other videos do you feel like it's time. Looking for everyone's opinion. I know that the decision has to be ours and I know what I'm seeing. I'm seeing a sick dog that doesn't want to disappoint us.
We remember facing the difficult decisions when Jerry's time came, and recall asking ourselves... "How do we want to remember him?" Happy with our decision—as happy as we can be about such a decision—we still remember him as full of life, with a smile on his face.
If you haven't read it yet, review our two part series published shortly after we let him go, and read the many comments for more helpful feedback from others...

It's really hard to say from a video, because it is only one brief moment in a day.
It all depends on the dog, and how you see his quality of life and how much interaction he is having with the family. This is all very hard. My thoughts are with you, and sending Marshall hugs from Brazil.

Okay, lets get this straight right now! Marshall does NOT do mornings well! He's a slow starter! I can relate! I remember that picture of him trying to get a sipmof coffee from the table. I thinks he trying to tell you he needs his caffeine!!!
Yeah, I still see some spunk in those videos! He and Doc are soooo cute playing together. Inlpve the first video where Marshall was foing to get the ball. Then in the third throw, it looked like it was thrown a little further. He just stood there. His thought bubble had to be something nlike, "You threw it too far this time! You go get it!!"
So glad you posted these videos. He IS a very good boy...and he clearly loves hearing that!
