Well, I wasn't sure where to put this update so I am going to put it here.

Everything still is going good but one slight backstep.  My baby girl started to get a uti.  I caught it early enough by knowing her peeing habit.  She is on a leash or i am with her at all times.  So when she started peeing a lot more than the normal 1 time or 2 times I started to wonder.  Then today it was 3 times and the last time nothing came out.

Called the vet before I had to work and got the only open appointment this weekend.  I think they squeezed us in knowing she is on cytoxin & a cancer patient.  Well they took the urine sample.  Did the strip test (for blood) nothing showed up.  When they spun the urine down there were very few red blood cells, lots of white cells & bacteria.  So needless to say Ms Sugar Bear is on antibiotics.  Clavamox/combo with something I can't remember what but I can tell you it was $90.00.  We will recheck next week at our scheduled Metronomics appointment.   The good thing is that so far Dr Truax (Dr Boyer's day off) he did Sassy's amputation thinks this is a normal uti and not from the Cytoxin but we will discuss further if no improvement by next week

Just messing around with some pictures.  I took this the other day when she was on my bed

I just posted on your blog SL I'll use the space here to go "ga ga" over these pictures!! You caught the uti thing so quick and clavamox is always the first med my vet gives them for bacterial uti. Slam dunk! That's taken care of! BAM! GONE!

Now, back to my favorite subject....pictures and more pictures of that Sassy Bear! Loo, at that massive head! That's show stopper! That's a "best in show" kind of head!! I love the black and white version.....it actually reminds me a lot of her portrait....that pose was with a lot more smile.....this is more, "Yeah, I'm Royalty and you are all my servants!"

Then you loo at her again, and it's a pose of a gently giant...a sweet soul who wouldn't hurt a fly! Those eyes are so gentle and kind....they just melt your heart!

Okay, Sassy is Queen of Kindness and Bosch is her handsome King! Wait, aren't they brother and sister? So that would just be wrong! Bit then, there was a lot of that stuff going on back then:-)

We bow down to you Sassy for a whole bunch of reasons, but mostly just because you are you and we love YOU and your momma!!

Thanks for the good update....it really is good! But most of all, thank you form those great pictures!!

BEAUTIFUL dogs; the black and white shot just has a glow to it; nicely done!

Clavamox has been around since forever and it's still pricey.  But it does a good job, especially with catching it so early.

Sally, it's a good thing HRH Princess Roxie is snoring on her back in her orthopedic throne or she'd be in a snit that you're crowning someone ELSE a Queen.  If she knew about that you'd be getting the Royal Whale Eye right through your computer, and it's not a good thing.  And BTW, YOUR pics of SuperSkinny Happy Hannah were a hoot - LOVE the cookie slobber!

Oh silly Liz...first of all I KNEW Roxie was asleep when I wrote that because I could here her snore all the way over here!

And silly Liz again...these are two entirely different titles!!

Roxie is Queen ROO ROOOOOOOOOO aka HRH of the land of ROOOOOOOOO! and all four-legged dogs are her servants! Goodness gracious, how could you even think these two Queens wore the same crown? Tsk..tsk...

Now you ma notice that we do have some delightful pictures of Queen Sassy, perhaps HRH could have o e of her servants...akaYOU...provide us o e!"

Love to all,

Sally and Happy Hannah

Well shoot if you have to get a UTI at least it's not related to the cytoxan. Whew! Just makes me believe even more about Sassy's incredible strength.

Good for you for being so observant. I always say that pooping and peeing will tell you a lot about a dawg's current state of health. Kinda funny to stand there studying it but it pays off (even if that bill was $90...ouch!).

Sending pawsitivity and healing thoughts to miss Sassy! Oh and that is a GREAT photo of her!

Michelle, Sassy is so photogenic.  She never takes a bad picture.  Sorry about the UTI.  Good for you for catching it so soon.  Of all the complications there could be with our furbabies a UTI is manageable.  You both are in my thoughts.

Amy & Libby

Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13.  Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14.  She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self.  Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

Sassy just defines strength and grace, what a beauty. Sorry to hear she's a little under the weather, but as everyone said, at least it's manageable. Still, hate that the warrior princess is not feeling so great. Lots of ear scratches and belly rubs are due mom!
