Good evening,
Time for an update. Runcus has taken us on a new journey. As has been described she has had a rough go of it. With the chemo chaos being the capper, so to speak, we had decided to give her the best life we could for as long as we had her. Still the plan I guess, but maybe with a bit more hope.
There is a veterinary acupuncturist here in town that has come to see/treat Runcus. She uses acupuncture, lazer therapy, massage and herbs. Everything she does can work in combo with the pain meds Runcus is still on while her torn ligament heals. (or stabilizes or whatever is happening in there) We've only had one acupuncture and lazer treatment so far, and I can't say I see a huge difference yet, but it's a different approach, one we're open to trying. It will certainly not harm her, and may help. (We may want to get stock in liverwurst, as she is taking quite a few herbs!)
Runcus warmed right up to her, and she spent 2 hours with us this first visit, listening and examining... I don't expect the rest to take so much time, but it was nice to have the vet spend so much time getting to know her.
We have another appointment mid April.
I haven't seen much on here about "alternative healing" but then I haven't really looked very hard for it either.
If anyone has experiences to share of what did or didn't work in the realm of non-traditional treatments I'd love to hear them!
Thanks as always for reading!
That's wonderful you are trying acupuncture! How cool of that vet to come to your town. It's so amazing for tons of conditions, you just have to give it time. Some dogs need 4 to 6 sessions before you see a difference.

Im sure Runcus is loving all this extra liverwurst and attention👍
So glad to hear ahe has had a good reaction to the acupuncture, etc. Great that you and Runcus both had such a good connection during her therapy.
And absolutely, whatever works without causing harm is always the best treatment!
Many here have tried all sorts of "alternative" therapies and usually have good results. Looking forward to following Runcus's progress
