1)Admin, bless you for your patience and for cleaning up after the technodolts. Soon as Jerry said "Bad pawrent, bad, bad", I thought hmmmmm, that's what PM's are for. Imagine, in some circumstances I have a moderate amount of intelligence.
2)To all who so kindly serenaded me with Roo Roo's while Roxie was resting her pipes, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. And....drum roll, please: SHE'S BAAAAACK!!! Phenomenal rebound from Monday. This morning at 4:45 I had about 30 different things on the counter to make furry breakfasts and I heard from the family room a very quiet "roo". Sounded a little rusty. Sounded like she was testing the Perfect Warrior Princess early warning system. Then she came toddling around the corner, looking for her bowl. And when it was presented, she took off the top layer and...left...but only went as far as the hallway. Oh, yes, fellow mere mortals, She is back. So a couple more combinations of yummies and she had a meal! We're having LOVELY fall-like weather, so I bailed from my cubicle prison early and came home to get the troops for a ride. While she was waiting for me to get her collar on, she started to stamp her front feet....revving up....then pursed her lips...lifted her head and "ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!"
Happy blubbering in Tolland, CT. She had a great walk in the park; said hi to a leetle terrier mix, back-seat-drove, and leaned against Smokey when her balance was off. Stopped on the way home and they had ice cream before dinner, ice cream with dinner, and ice cream for dessert!!!! Roo roooooooooo! However long it lasts, this is such an unexpected gift. I never thought she'd feel this good again. So we're just enjoying. And I think I'll be able to keep the appt with the pet photographer for Friday; she looks just like her usual self. This weekend I told my husband I'd probably cancel the appt.; didn't want to have an image of her looking so very sick. So maybe this will work. we'll enjoy it as long as we can.

Oh Liz and Roxie!!! We're estatic over here!! I'm soooooo happy for you....sooooooo happy!

She maynhave even heard Happy Hannah and Bodie making an attemptto Roo Roooooo on youtube for her.....it must jave hurt her ears all the way oover in CT. Of course, now that she's back to Roo Roooooing on her own, she "don't need no stiinking video " of a plus size model tripawd and a sixteen yr. old four legger trying to Roo Rooooo for Roxie:-)

We're now 2 weeks out from the crappy tumor confirmation. Lots of ups and downs and ups again. Roxie's only "rx" drug is still Rimadyl and, knock on whatever, it's still working like a charm - doesn't seem to have pain from either the lung tumor or the stupid partial ACL tear. She's still getting around really well although her need for speed is now getting her winded when we're outside. I swear the marshmallow root liquid extract really relieves her breathing....most of the time it's a little shallow but ok. A cruise in the car is now part of our daily routine and today we went in the afternoon. Car rides were her favorite long before we adopted her, and if she could pass in the back seat with her nose lifted to the window I'd be happy. She ROO ROO'd at me until her collar and harness were on and Dad moved the car out of the garage to make it easier for the kids to get in. Her Roo is more high-pitched than it used to be, but even more sweet.
We ran a couple errands then went to one of our local favorite parks. A young girl (babysitter) with 2 young kids were ahead of us and she asked if the kids could say hello to our dogs (how NICE to ask!!). Said yes and introduced them, and HRH let Quad GSD Smokey go first so all attention could then be on her. She loves kids. And attention. The girl pointed out her ghost leg and asked what happened. Told them she has bone cancer. The kids' dad has cancer, and she pointed out to them how happy and healthy Roxie is, and said they just need to keep praying that their dad will feel that good, too.
Yikes. What an insightful young lady. And what a check on perspective.
We let her go too far and her breathing was hard until we got home. But she again plowed through her supper, supplements and all, slurped up her IC, and is now snoozing upside down with the A/C on her. Smokey's passed out nearby. I ordered the final prints for the portriats the photographer did last week of the dogs. And it's all good.
I just caught up on all this. I'm in New Haven! Wow, what an ordeal. You had me glued to her story and I'm so happy that so many problems have been addressed. Too many meds can be a problem! Wow. Take comfort that Rimadyl does also fight cancer, so it's helping with inflammation and pain and cancer! Yey! Is there another vet visit to monitor the size of her tumor? Or, is her life now all about joy, happiness, and whatever Roooooooo wants to do? Roooooo, on, baby! Roooooo, on! I'm SO thrilled she's feeling MUCH better!

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. I'm so happy things are going good for your girl. Adelaide sends a roooo rooooooo your guys' way too!
Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury. Her amp was on 10/1/12. She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera. We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

Jerry, you are the best PR Spiritdawg a Princess and her staff could ever hope for!! Thank you for bringing my kids to Tripawds!
Katy, you were one of the first to welcome me here when I got the nerve to sign on. I'm thrilled to hear Jackson is kicking cancer's butt; keep up the great work! I'm taking Rox to our primary care vet tomorrow for a listen. She's breathing harder and I'm a little concerned with the holiday weekend. Onco had predicted she has about 3 weeks....which puts us at this coming Tuesday. SIGH. So while we think she'll beat that, I want to be sure we're not missing any signs that tell us she's in distress. Had you heard her roo-ing for tonight's ride, the only distress was that we weren't hitching up the carriage fast enough! So we're also very much on the joy and happiness and it's-all-about-Roxie train these days.
Thanks, Karma; hugs & hearts to you. Roxie thanks Adelaide and says ROO ROO to her, too. I was very happy at how well the dogs put up with all the posing. The photographer has TONS of patience!! The finished pics should be ready in about 2 weeks.
Auntie Sally, if you see a newsclip about a 5-year-old girl chopping her dad's crappy cancer leg off in northeastern CT, just remember: ixnay on the Roxie story: we never heard it here and we were never in that park... Only you, Auntie, would think of that; only you. HAHAHAHAHAH
