Jillys surgery is all over! Surgeon said it went very well and she is now in recovery. I will be able to pick her up on Saturday but am allowed to visit. The vet actually has their annual holiday party tonight so lets see if they can keep me from going in the back to see my baby girl!

Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. I am glad her surgery went well. I would visit all I wanted. I went and seen Socks this morning, she tried to come home with me. Kinda made me sad cause I can't get her until Friday when my hubby gets paid. She has been at the vet's since Thursday of last week.

Glad to hear the surgery went well.  Saturday will seem like an eternity.  I brought Daisy home the day after her surgery but was afraid I wouldn't be able to handle her so soon after recovery.  Heck she came hoping out and greeted me like nothing happened.  I'm sure Jill will be excited to see you!

I know Saturday is so far away!! I'm puppy sitting for my parents until Saturday anyway though and she's a baby teacup poodle so she probably wouldn't leave my little patient alone!

So glad to hear that the surgery went well and Jill is in recovery.  I know you are anxious to get her home. I hated being away from my girl for one night.  But is was comforting to know that she was being watched over by people that knew what they were doing and if anything was to go wrong, its best that they are at the hospital, so it can be dealt with quickly.  Keep us updated on how Jill is doing and the big reunion on Saturday.  Im glad it all went well.  I know you were really anxious about the surgery.  We are all on this journey together and the more support we have, the easier the journey is.

Hooray for surgery going well! It's good that they'll keep her a few nights. Rest up before she gets home.

Keep us posted on how her recovery goes. Hope it's easy-peasy!

Jackie, Angel Abby's mom

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. yeahhhhhhhhh!!!  so glad everything went well... clap

It is such a proud feeling that you have when you become the owner of a tripawd!  I think it is because they just go on and enjoy life, they don't complain, they adjust and love you every day!  That just amazes me.

Lots of snuggles are in store in the future I am sure!!!

Good luck!!

Thanks everyone! Went and saw her this morning. She's feelin pretty good. She made a few mean sounds when she tried to stand but other than that she was purrrrrrring away for a half hour straight and then gobbled up a huge portion of food!

Glad she is doing well!! Sounds like Socks, she ate as soon as they would allow her too. She will be coming home tomorrow. I have prepared my spare bedroom for her. The doc said to keep her away from the other dogs until her incision heals. I am so excited about her coming home tomorrow. Saturday will be here before you know it!!
