It has been 6 months since Jill's last IV chemo and 9.5 months since her amputation, so today we went to visit the fine folks at the Animal Medical Center for a check up.

As discussed in my prior thread, Jill likes to do this lovely thing and throw a coughing fit right before her xrays, so of course I was anxious, BUT....

Lungs are crystal clear!  Yipee!  She is looking fantastic.  Her weight is almost back up to where it was prior to starting the Leukeran.  She weighed in this morning at a whopping 10 pounds, 2 ounces (was 8lbs 13 ounces on 8/11).

So all in all it was an amazing check up.  Her oncologist is very pleased with how she looks as am I!  I really haven't seen her this happy and healthy since before I found that stupid ole tumor on her toe back in June 2012.  Next up, we'll have xrays in December as we mark one year since her amputation.  Her oncologist thinks that once we hit that mark, prefacing this with the fact that Jill's case is quite rare, she really should be good to go and we can do the xrays only once or twice a year.

I'm so happy and proud of my little one.  She is such a tough little fighter.  I had a really good feeling going into this appointment, even with that coughing episode (which the oncologist thinks may have just been something stuck in her throat).  She's just been running around like a little maniac lately and that is so nice to see :)

Here is Jilly in her little pet detect collar this morning so they don't lose her when they take her to Radiology:

and here is just some video of her being cute and sneezing and trying to scratch behind her ear with her stump:

Thanks again everyone as always for your support, we would never get through this without you!

All our love always xoxo,

Erica & Jill

Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Congrats to both of you for your "victory" over the foe that many are facing.

Both of you have been a great support to Tuck and I over this past week with our recent foray into the world of amputation and I am so very pleased for both of you.

Hugs to you and snuggles for Jill :)

Way to go, Jilly!  Extra sardines for all tonight...or maybe you can beat Brudda out of his.  Way to go, too, on the weight gain.

Murphy

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.

Suuuuweeeet! I'm also thinking she choked on a dust bunny. Get rid of that housekeeper of yours and get a new one!

YAYYYYY!!!! This is really, really great news. Tell Jill that we will NOT have any more scares like this. She is cancer free and feeling good and that's that, darnit! ;0 xoxo
