Those darn fireworks, I'm sorry that was so hard on him and you too I'm sure. Bet you're glad it's over. I hope today his spunk is back like it is in that adorable photo!

There is so much information and many choices to make about diet. I like that you're looking for a holistic vet. I'd love to see what their approach is so do keep us posted. Meanwhile check out the Tripawds Nutrition blog for some ideas.

Gabbar is a perfect example of how much pain osteo can cause, and how happy our dogs are when the painful limb has been removed.   Your pictures and videos really bring that home, and will be of such help to others who are in the future faces with this decision.

Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016.  Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016.  Lung mets August 25, 2016.  Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016.   Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.

Wherever they are, they are together.

Hi everyone

Just thought I'd give you all a Gabbar update. He's been good. Slowly adapting to his new life on three legs. He knows he gets a little extra attention, and has figured out how to abuse it. My parents were visiting. And he had a ball. He'd wake them up in the middle of the night, just so he can sleep on their lap...and gets away with it.

Here's a little video of him playing. This is 16 days post amputation. I'd say he's doing alright. The tests on the harvested lymph nodes came out clear. Now we're just keeping the diet carb-free and high in protein, making sure he gets plenty of golden paste intake, garlic pods etc. Now that he's recovered from the surgery and got his energy back and isn't in pain and done with meds, I'm looking for cannabis oil supplier here to start him on it, just preventive. Just trying to keep it natural.

Again, I cannot thank the members of this group enough for all the support, information and confidence you gave me.

So happy to see Gabbar happy and pain free!   Rosie is doing just as well.

We opted for chemo and she had the first of 5  yesterday.  So far no reaction.

What I love the most is seeing how happy she is.   When she flies around outside her ears flop up and down and she has a big grin on her face.  She's got a new napping position that's hilarious!  She lays on her back with her leg straight up in the air and back legs sprawled wide, with a giant grin.

Gabbar looks fantastic!  Seeing him jump up on his hind legs brings happy tears!

great job pawrents!  Great job Gabbar!!!

GRINNING EAR TO EAR!! This video is what it's all about!! Gabbar looks soooo happy, well, except when he had to give his toy back after he won the prize! But then he got it again and trotted off carryy securely in his mouth! Sooooo cute!! And then sweet Suzy waiting patiently for her toy...such great dogs!!

OMD and Gabbar looks sooooo ADORABLE in his booties!! 🙂

A d yeah, spoiling a tripawd is a whole new level of spoiling!! They quickly learn how they can get away with anythw!! And it's just as much fun for humans as it is dogs!! Seeing them happy is all that matters!

A d for whatever it's worth, two weeks into recovery is still early! There's srill more sparkling to come!

Thanks so much for the smiles today! And YAY FOR clear nodes! Keep these great updates AND videos and pics coming!!

Hugs to all!
