So glad you were able to get him started in some Pred, etc. ahe he's already feeling better! I remember my Vet said sometimes Pred can be a pretty "bad" drug, and then there are rimes when it becomes a miracle drug!

Prednisone was indeed a miracle drug with my Billie's brain tumour. It was like it just totally brought her back, very much as you're describing. So pleased that you and Boone are enjoying this precious time together. Wonderful pictures.

Quick Boone update...
We attempted to reduce the prednisone to 1x/day (per vet's instructions) but the coughing became worse so he's back on 2x/day dose for a week before trying to reduce again. He's still happy, stealing things he shouldn't and generally just being Boone.
He's still hopping, though not very far as he gets winded easily. We go just to the corner and back and if he doesn't beat me to the porch, we hang out in the sunshine for a little while.
And he hops on the couch to snuggle up with us some evenings.
Thanks for letting us share - even if the updates aren't anything new. It helps me to process everything and stay in the moment.

We WANT you to share everything Boone!! It's not about a new (or old) update. It's about sharing every little nuance about Boone. Sharing the day to day ways he brings you joy, and you bring him joy, and you both bring us all joy!! You and Boone are ccontinuing to make treasured moments that will stay with you forever. His posts are a great way to remind yourself of that.
And if it helps you stay in the moment, that's even more resson to post, and to post a lot!! And you and Boone are helping everyone in this journey in more ways than you'll ever know.
I was owned by a dog named Bernie and he was off and on Prednisone for several uears. There were times he was on it often for weeks at a time without a reduction. There were times he was on ait resuced amount; so etimes every other day; and sometimes completely off it. I don't recall exactly his issues...some sort of whacky immune system thing going on. It was a drug thst worked for him and, in his case, did more good than harm. It seems to clearly be doing Boone some good!
Okay, a post without a locture???? What were you thinking (or not)? Just seeing his photos brightens our day..HINT!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
One other little tidbit. I used Happy Hannah's waggi g tail as a way to keep me in the moment. I VOWED to myself that anytime her tail wagged I would check myself and make sure I was fully in the prese t with her. And basically all I had to do was breathe and she wagged her tail!! 🙂 🙂 🙂 Thump.....thump
Now go make Boone's tail wag!! 🙂

Yes the pred is helping a little TOO well with his appetite. He constantly goes to the treat counter. And he happily takes his apple slices.
His cough is worse when we try to lower the dose and when he lays on his right side where the mass is. But his breathing seems ok and he doesn't appear distressed about the cough.
So we just love on him every day. And just like you said, when he gives us a tail wag we make sure we're in the present with him 💕🐾

Kinda' chuckling. Yiu reminded me how obsessed I was for a bit watching Happy Hannah breath! I watched her chest, I counted her breaths. Now keep in mind, I wasn't giving her petting atte tion during this time...jist watching and staring at her. After doing this for days Happy Hannah had enough! She gave me the loudest HUUMPHH Id ever heard and she bounded over to me and plopped her 125 lbs in my lap as she toppled the chair over with the twomof us in it!!
From that point forward, I no longer "obsessed" over her breathing. She, like Boone, was handling everything without being nearly as "distressed" as we are!! 🙂 And as the Vet told me, they "adjust". If it means resting more or being less active, they adjust.
I love hearing that Boone is enjoying having an appetite...especially for treats!! Soooo much fun spoiling a tripawd!
Glad the "tail wagging"'tip helped. And if your mind starts wandering away from the present and Boone is asleep and you dont want to wake him up for a tail wag.....I made a stand-in tail wag for ya':-) 🙂
