Okay my friend, let's try this again. Sorry I couldn't get through some more last night.

First, have you gotten to speak with the Vet yet about adding something to help with the cough? I know Boone ate some yesterday and that's good. I think the Pred will help with his appetite too.

Okay, be right back...

Haven't talked with my vet, but it's only 6:30 AM here 😉 Boone ate 1.5 cups of kibble this morning, the most he's eaten in several days. Coughed several times through the night and this morning. His breathing seems ok, so I think maybe the mass shifts depending on his position.

The ER vet did mention a cough suppressant so I may stop back by for that if the pred doesn't seem to help after a few doses.

Thabknyou for keeping tabs on us 💕🐾😊

Okay gon a try again!!!' Sorry this keeps booting me off!!!

I'm posting a video from Boone's blog so everyone can see how happy this feisty boy is!!

Really glad to hear he's eating better. I really think the Pred will help him feel better.

I know as humans we count days on a calendar, but Boone is only counting MOMENTS! And look at that video, that boy is thoroughly enjoying his moments with you!!! He wouldn't trade these kinds of moments for anything!! And he still has more coming!!

You maybe able to configure some pillows to help him sleep in a better position to help reduce the cough too.

Lean on us and let us help keep you strong and staying in the moment. You're doing a really, really good job!!

Boone is still enjoying being Boone and getting ridiculously spoiled and pampered!

Feel our hugs because they are with you non stop! Now go hug Boone..Bad to Da' Boone...and watch his tail wag! Yeah, that's another glorious moment Boone wouldn't trade for the world!!

Oh I'm so glad he's eating! That's terrific! The pred is doing its job. Yay!  It may make him urinate a LOT so be ready for that. You'll want to watch his water intake in the evenings so he doesn't keep you up all night.

We too found the same thing about Jerry's lung mets. If he would lay down on one side, he would have issues breathing. Not so much on the other side. I know what it's like to worry about that. {{{{hugs}}}}

Let us know what the vet says OK?

My heart is breaking for you and Boone right now.  Hoping and praying so hard here that Boone will still have some good days ahead of him.  I know you will love that sweet boy to the moon and back in however much time you have with him.   Lean on us for any strength you need.  Sending you virtual hugs (((((()))))).

Manni's big bro... I can't really believe it. I have many a swear word for this disease but I'm sure you know them all by now. As everybody here has said before: you are doing a fantastic job as a dog mom and Boone has always looked so happy and content in your posts. You've been doing everything right and while I'm sure your heart is breaking and you're probably questioning some decisions, Boone is happy in this moment with you. I'm sure you'll find a way to get a handle on that cough.

Our thoughts are with you, believe it. If you need anything, reach out.

Biggest of hugs

tina and Manni

Thinking of you and Boone.  It will never cease to surprise me how quickly some dogs go from bouncing everywhere, having an awesome recovery, then hitting the wall.  And we really have no way of knowing which of us will be lucky.  We simply all go in hoping and praying we'll be the lucky ones.  But cancer simply sucks.  Having endless money, brains, desire and a bounty of love just isn't enough.  Ask Steve Jobs.

Milo rode a rollercoaster at the end.  We found prednisone helped a bit with the swelling that came from the growing lung mets.  We also found Derramax helped with the pain without the same panting side-effects of the drugs we used for the first month after the surgery.  We rode the rollercoaster, enjoyed some time reading in the Sun (actually, only I read -- as amazing as he was, he just slept), went for rides in the car along his favorite walking routes.

I wish I could tell you we found something magical and that Milo miraculously recovered and is lying at my feet right now.... oh how I wish I could tell you that.  Instead, we're sending you wishes for strength, peace, and hope that you can find some good snuggles and sweet moments with your faithful buddy Boone.

Peace,

Jenifer & Milo

Thank you, again everyone. Your words of support and encouragement help me every day.

The prednisone is working - Boone's appetite has returned with a vengeance ;-). As has his intake of water and needing to go outside. The coughing isn't too bad and he seems to be breathing fine. We got out for a happy hop yesterday and will go again today. He actually wanted to play last night but we're being careful as too much exertion aggravates the cough.

So, we're celebrating another beautiful sunny day with Boone in our lives.heart
