Hi everybodyheart

Since Eurydice lost her leg, she has been using the remaining one as a pillow, twisting it in the process.

That caused the elbow area to be subject to friction which in turn made the skin very thin and tender.

I applied Sudocrem and then Flamazine for months non end and it sort of kept it acceptable but never solved the problem.

Luckily I got an excellent recommendation of a lady seamstress who had a seriously disabled Lab who was operated on his legs 4 times and suffered from severe arthritis.

As he needed specific support items and nobody in the market was producing anything that he could use, she rolled up her sleeves and created a lot of things to help her fluffy.

She made an elbow protection for my girl (same she used with her boy, Sam) and that works beautifully.

The material she uses is antibacterial and stretchy and really easy to place in the right angle, Eurydice uses it every time she lies down, apart from her beds.

Needless to say, the elbow area is recovering fast and I am really happy big-grin

Thought this info might be useful for others whose cuties might have elbow/shoulder problems.

Sending you a big hug and cuddles all around heart

Oh man, my patchy has the opposite problem, he has developed a thick callous if you will on his elbow, but I bet that would help him as well.  Would love to find something like that for him.  Love your giant girl! - Summer & Patchy smiley

Hi Summer and Patchyheart

Well, if Jerry approves, I can send you this lady's details by PM, it certainly is working for my baby girl.

Patchy is so, so gorgeous, I absolutely adore St Bernard's (apart from the excessive slobberlaughing)

Sending you a big hug and a bear hug to Patchyheart

Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. Clyde uses his remaining "arm" in exactly the same way! And he's developed one of those elbow callouses. Doesn't seem to bother him yet but its getting larger and I think he needs some protection. Wish there was something like that available here. And Eurydice is so beautiful, I just love seeing pictures of her.
